Kamala Harris: And we worked on supporting what was a bipartisan effort to actually strengthen the border.

NumbersUSA: Is that true? Well, the text of the bill said that the government will be required to release a minimum of 1,400 inadmissible aliens each day.

Joe Biden: Look at the facts.

NumbersUSA: This proposal does not end the illegal immigration, it requires it. The bill that would actually stop this border crisis is H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, which Numbers USA helped pass to the House of Representatives last spring.

Rep. Byron Donalds: We’re the only chamber that’s passed the bill, H.R. 2. It is passed the House. The Senate refuses to even talk about it or debate it.

NumbersUSA: That’s the bill we need the President to sign.

Kamala Harris: And they want a President of the United States was not playing political games with the issue . . .

Bret Baier: I hear you.

Kamala Harris: . . . but actually focused on fixing the issue

Democrats . . .

Kamala Harris: The border is secure.

Chuck Todd: You’re confident this border secure?

Kamala Harris: We have a secure border.

The Truth About Kamala’s Senate Border Bill

Vice President Kamala Harris continues to lie about Donald Trump’s reasons for not supporting the Senate’s Border Deal during her remarks in Arizona, after she very briefly visited the border.

Transcript:

Kamala Harris: And also why I strongly supported the Comprehensive Border Security bill written last year, written last year, as you know, by a bipartisan group of senators, including one of the most conservative members of the United States Congress. That bill would have hired 1,500 more border agents, and officers. It would have paid for 100 inspection machines to detect fentanyl. That is killing tens of thousands of Americans every year.

It would have allowed us to more quickly and effectively remove those who come here illegally, and it would have increased the number of immigration judges and asylum officers. It was the strongest border security bill we have seen in decades. It was endorsed by the Border Patrol Union, and it should be in effect today, producing results, in real time right now, for our country.

But Donald Trump tanked it. He picked up the phone and called some friends in Congress and said, stop the bill. Because, you see, he prefers to run on a problem instead of fixing a problem.

Rep. Byron Donalds: We need to set the record straight about the Senate bill and actually H.R. 2. When the Senate bill was actually published, I remember, I was in a, I was at a dinner, Sunday night when it came out, when the text came out. I read the text of the Senate bill. Many members in the House read the text of the Senate bill.

Members contacted Speaker Johnson, and we were very clear, there, there is no way this Senate bill should get a vote in the House, because it is a terrible piece of legislation that will not secure the southern border. House Republicans have passed border security measures, H.R. 2. We did it more than a year ago. Has Chuck Schumer brought it up for even debate or a vote in the Senate? No, he has not.

Has the white House decided to reach out to the Speaker Johnson to debate and deliberate or negotiate or compromise on H.R. 2 in its elements to secure the southern border? No, they have not.

They’re in charge in the Senate and in the white House. They’ve done nothing, except a bill that couldn’t even make it out of the Senate.

So I think it’s important to set the record straight. Oh, also, by the way, House Republicans weren’t going to vote for that bill, and that was before Donald Trump even made his, his view known on the Senate compromise bill. We were already against it when the bill text came out, because it’s a trash bill.
