Congressman Issa’s No Rogue Rulings Act (NORRA) is gaining support, poised for House floor vote.

Excerpts from The Hill:

GOP leaders will hold a floor vote next week on the No Rogue Rulings Act led by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), which would limit the power of district judges to impose nationwide injunctions โ€” like the one from Judge James Boasberg that barred the Trump administration from using the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelan migrants.  See full article in The Hill by Emily Brooks, 3/25/25

Majority Leaderย Steve Scaliseย announces House floor vote: ย

X Post 3/24/25:  “NEWS –> Next week the House plans to vote on @repdarrellissa’s No Rogue Rulings Act to limit the judicial overreach of partisan federal judges issuing political nationwide injunctions to impede President Trump’s agenda the majority of American voter elected him to carry out.”

Speaker Mike Johnson supports Issa bill:

โ€œOne of the bills I really like, that has already been through Committee, authored by Rep Darrell Issa, would like the scope of federal injunctions, the ability of one judge to abuse the system in this wayโ€ฆWe will be moving it and others.โ€

Chairman Jim Jordan supports Issa bill:

โ€œWeโ€™re trying to take legislative action. Two and half weeks ago in the Judiciary Committee, we passed legislation which said, instead of the federal district courts issuing an injunction that applies to the entire country, we think it should be limited to the parties of that case in respect the respective jurisdiction. Itโ€™s Congressman Issaโ€™s bill.  Itโ€™s a good piece of legislation, we passed it two and a half weeks ago, Speaker Johnson has indicated he would like to get this bill to the floor next week and move it through the process.โ€

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich supports Issa bill:

โ€œThe Rep Darrell Issa bill would bar district judges from issuing nationwide injunctions and Sen. Josh Hawley bill in the Senate would be an appropriate first response to the district judges who are trying to be โ€œmini-presidentsโ€ totally beyond their constitutional authority.โ€

Cosponsors of H.R. 1526, NORRA include:

Rep. Derrick Van Orden (WI), Rep. Randy Weber (TX), Rep. Lance Gooden (TX), Rep. Mark Harris (NC), Rep. Anna Paula Luna (Fl), Rep. Derek Schmidt (KS), Rep. Claudia Tenney (NY), Rep. John McGuire (VA), Rep. Keith Self (TX), Rep. Clay Higgins (LA), Rep. Dan Meuser (PA), Rep. Brian Babin (TX)
