Donald Trump’s Appointments Are Being Obstructed

Contact Your Elected Officials

The U.S. House and Senate have been in summer recess since August 4 and will be back in regular session starting September 1, 2025. Normally, this window would allow a president of the United States to make recess appointments. Donald Trump is the only President in history that has had recess appointments blocked by his own party!

Here is a look at past history in this matter:

  • Ronald Reagan – 240 Recess Appointments
  • George H.W. Bush – 77 Recess Appointments
  • Bill Clinton – 139 Recess Appointments
  • George W. Bush – 179 Recess Appointments
  • Barack Obama – 32 Recess Appointments
  • Donald Trump – 0 Recess Appointments
  • Joe Biden – 0 Recess Appointments (because the Senate was never gone 10 days)
  • Donald Trump – 0 Recess Appointments

The US Senate has been holding pro forma sessions every 3 days after beginning their summer recess to prevent President Trump from making any recess appointments, through the beginning of September, per Senate Leader John Thune (R-SD).

Alex Shaw is a liberal podcaster who did a pretty fair job of offering his take on what is happening with the lack of Trump’s lack of recess appointments in this video short reel. In his discussion he reminds us that former president Obama got some clap back from the Supreme Court back in 2014. He makes a valid point and this could explain why there has been far fewer recess appointments made ever since.

“Trump Recess Appointments” – Alex Shaw

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) drafted an adjournment resolution to allow President Trump to make recess appointments as he explains in this video.

That, apparently, went nowhere.

CONCLUSION:

But what is happening is MAGA Republicans are seeing red and once again labeling RINO traitors within the Republican Party they will target in future primaries for removal from office. It began with Senate Leader John Thune (R-SD) outlining dates the Senate will continue to meet during their recess as seen here in this video.

One of those dates is today at noon eastern time.

And the reason why this is so strange and aggravating is Thune promised quick approval of President Trump’s appointments into office prior this year. The two “cackling hens” seen behind Thune are known RINO Republicans Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).

We found that list here:

Pending Nominations on the Executive Calendar (Civilian)”- U.S. Senate

MAGA Americans are organizing and getting ready to remove Republicans In Name Only (RINOs) from office by primarying them when they come up for reelection. Here is an immediate list related to this story:

  • Senator Susan Collins – Maine
  • Senator Lisa Murkowski – Alaska
  • Senator John Curtis – Utah
  • Senator Lindsey Graham – South Carolina
  • Senator Mitch McConnell – Kentucky
  • Senator John Thune – South Dakota

But there are other longer lists of those Republicans such as those who refused to get behind President Trump and Elon Musk in codifying their new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

  • Senator John Barrasso (R-WY)  202-224-6441
  • Senator John Boozman (R-AR) 202-224-4843
  • Senator Shelley Capito (R-WV) 202-224-6472
  • Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) 202-224-5824
  • Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) 202-224-2523
  • Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) 202-224-2043
  • Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID) 202-224-6142
  • Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) 202-224-6551
  • Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) 202-224-5972
  • Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) 202-224-3744
  • Senator John Hoeven (R-ND) 202-224-2551
  • Senator Cindy Smith (R-MS) 202-224-5054
  • Senator James Lankford (R-OK) 202-224-5754
  • Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 202-224-2541
  • Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) 202-224-6521
  • Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) 202-224-4721
  • Senator Lisa Murkowski  (R-AK) 202-224-6665
  • Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) 202-224-4224
  • Senator Jim Risch – (R-ID) 202-224-2752
  • Senator Mike Rounds – (R-SD) 202-224-5842
  • Senator Thom  Tillis – (R-SC) 202-2246342

Other names of Republican Senators who are being listed for various reasons include:

  • Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA)
  • Senator Tim Scott (R-SC)
  • Senator Dan Sullivan 9R-AK)
  • Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS)
  • Senator Todd Young (R-IN)

Today Fox News posted a very interesting story.

Political violence surges across America as lawmakers face growing threats at home” – Fox News

Reading this story brought to mind attacks of:

  • AZ Rep. Gabby Giffords in 2011
  • LA Rep. Steve Scalise in 2017
  • CA Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s in 2022
  • MN State Rep. Melissa Hortman in 2025
  • PA Gov. Josh Shapiro in 2025

Being a public elected official is not an easy job but our forefathers never meant for it to be a dangerous job! The assassination of President Abraham Lincoln seemingly changed that.

I was an elected alderman for 10 years in an Illinois City. I learned there are 4 ways you can serve as an elected official:

  • You can serve the constituents who elected you always doing what they want.
  • You can serve special interests who work to coerce your votes to benefit them.
  • You can serve some compromise between the two above.
  • You can serve always voting for right over wrong saying screw both of the above.

Most of the battles I fought involved my constituents wanting me to spend money the city did not have. That made my life pretty simple, the right thing to do is not deficit spend. No matter how I voted, I could always explain my vote to my constituents such that they didn’t wind up wanting to kill me!

Today we have elected officials who do not think they owe their constituents explanations and cannot defend their votes on some issues even if they tried. To be honest, they seem compromised and owned by somebody else unseen.  And, in America, that can get you killed!

“Joe Biden tells union worker ‘you’re full of sh*t…I don’t work for you’” – Trump War Room

But there is another factor to be concluded with here… In the olden days we used to lock up our people who were mentally deranged. Today, thanks to the ACLU, they roam our streets freely.
