WASHINGTON—The White House is ready to rumble as it is set to host its first UFC match next year.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Sept. 5 the June cage match, which a White House official confirmed to The Epoch Times, without providing additional detail.

President Donald Trump is a huge UFC fan and is a close friend of the organization’s chief executive, Dana White.

He has attended numerous matches, including one shortly after winning the 2024 election.

White said he would have more details on the event in the next couple of weeks.

The fight will happen on the South Lawn of the White House.

A UFC team has already surveyed the area, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Octagon cage will have a view of the White House and the Washington Monument. Jumbo screens could be set up on the Ellipse, across from the White House, for more people to watch.

The event was initially slated for July 4, as part of celebrating America’s 250th birthday, but there were already numerous White House events surrounding the holiday.

Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, who does Brazilian jujitsu and is close to White, is expected to be part of the planning.

The competitors have yet to be announced.

The Lincoln Memorial will host a press conference and a weigh-in of the fighters.

The Epoch Times has reached out to UFC for comment.

Trump initially proposed the UFC White House fight in July.

“I even think we’re going to have a UFC fight,” Trump said in Iowa. “We’re going to have a UFC fight, think of this, on the grounds of the White House.”

The now-defunct Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, hosted two UFC fights in 2001.
