Legislation proposed by Georgia Republicans moved forward in both the state house and senate. Some of the issues addressed were voter ID requirements and so-called “at will” absentee voting. In the Senate, SB 71 requires that a voter provide a reason for requesting an absentee ballot. In the House, HB 531 would also limit conditions under which a voter could request an absentee ballot, and would additionally require a photo ID in order to obtain one.
