Several U.S. federal judges โ€“ including Supreme Court Justices โ€“ have served as Visiting Professors at the Chinese Communist Party-run Peking University, The National Pulse can reveal. The efforts were funded by Chinese influence groups seeking to coerce โ€œforeign actors to take actions or adopt positions supportive ofโ€ the Chinese governmentโ€™s โ€œpreferred policies.โ€

The Beijing-based university โ€“ headed by a former Chinese Communist Party spy agency leader โ€“ has seen its American graduates questioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over fears of students getting โ€œco-opted by Chinese espionage efforts.โ€

Financial supporters of Peking Universityโ€™s School of Transnational Law (STL) also include Thomson Reuters and the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) โ€“ the leading influence group in the Chinese Communist Partyโ€™s United Front propaganda outfit.

According to the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, the United Front seeks to โ€œneutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Partyโ€ and โ€œinfluence foreign governments and other actors to take actions or adopt positions supportive of Beijingโ€™s preferred policies.โ€

Despite these troubling ties, judges from various U.S. courts โ€“ย including the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals โ€“ have doubled as faculty and guest lecturers while serving on the bench. Former judges from the Chinese Communist Partyโ€™s Supreme Peopleโ€™s Court are also on the schoolโ€™sย faculty.
