The Wall Street Journal reports that Attorney General William Barr worked to stop details about the Hunter Biden probe from being disclosed to the public.
According to Justice Department guidelines investigators are advised against taking overt actions in a run-up to an election so as not to be seen as affecting the outcome.
In a statement made on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Hunter Biden said the following,
“I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs. I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors.”
