CNN’s Chris Cuomo attempted to defend his brother, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, against sexual misconduct accusations.

CNN host Chris Cuomo asked Melissa DeRosa, a top aide to his brother, then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), to let him “help with prep” for the governor’s defense against sexual misconduct allegations.

Text messages and other evidence relating to the disgraced former governor’s harassment probe were made public Monday by Attorney General Letitia James (D-NY).

Bombshell documents show that Chris Cuomo told DeRosa what his brother “should have said.” He then annotated Andrew Cuomo’s actual statement, which he described as “poor.”

The CNN anchor suggested his brother stand firm against resignation, arguing “I will not resign. I cannot resign. I am in a different position and I am working with a different standard than these other politicians… I understand the conformity that can be forced by cancel culture.”

DeRosa also asked Chris Cuomo for assistance. In one message, she wrote that there was a “rumor going around” that more women were going to come forward with accusations, and she asked the CNN host to “check” his sources.

Chris Cuomo also enlisted the help of an ally in Hollywood, actor Alec Baldwin. When DeRosa shared a link to the article “‘Cancel culture has reached breaking point’: Alec Baldwin shares 14-minute rant DEFENDING Woody Allen and sex pest governor Andrew Cuomo, saying ‘you have to prove’ sexual harassment allegations,” Chris Cuomo replied, “my friend asked him to do it.”

Chris Cuomo featured his brother, the governor,  as a regular guest on his CNN show “Cuomo Prime Time” throughout the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

CNN plans on conducting a “thorough review and consideration,” according to a statement from the company Monday.

“We will be having conversations and seeking additional clarity about their significance as they relate to CNN over the next several days,” CNN wrote.
