Seeing is the long-held standard for believing. Believing is often disconnected from seeing. Faith is a manifest truth and is the reason seeing and believing have been crossed up for years.
A physics professor in college told me on the first day of class, “we can’t see the atom, electrons or neutrons, and yet they exist. If you can’t accept that fact, you should leave now.” In my rush to leave the class, I may have missed other salient details.
The educator was asking non-believers to get out. For skeptics, being invited to leave is often their only reward for asking a question or rejecting a hypothesis. Faith, too, is often unwelcome.
Our understanding, not our eyes, is where the problem lies. What we believe should come because of working our brains and searching our hearts, not merely the image that appears on our retinas.
Skeptics drive nails into the flesh of ideas in hopes of killing it before they can take hold. The fervor with which they swing the hammer is commensurate to the threat the idea represents to the status quo.
If we see a man and he tells us he’s a girl our eyes do not deceive us. We see the man because we know what a man is and what one looks like. In this determination, we take the observable data and combine it with our understanding of sex and gender.
Fraudsters in politics, academia, and the media suggest your peepers are the problem. They’ve abandoned the definition of the word woman and man in favor of what they choose to see. The manifest truth is incontrovertible; a man can’t have a baby and woman can. No surgeon’s scalpel, no amount of pharmacologic gender benders, or psychotic psychiatry can change a man into woman.
Modern pharisee, the media and the Left in politics and academia, haul disbelievers, and heretics before them not to expose the truth, but to avoid it. To establish their power, not their thinking. To preserve their idea of orderliness upon which their lives and fortunes are built.
When a person enters our country by circumventing the laws that govern immigration he/she becomes an illegal immigrant/alien. It is not the character of the border violating visitors that leads to the designation. Good people, for good reasons, may choose to flee their home country, but that does not change the reality that their method of entry to the US is illegal.
The act of calling a people-trafficking, spousal abuser a “Maryland father” does not change truth, it reveals it. Those who spout such demonstrably misleading drivel would rather have him on US voter rolls than in a prison cell in his country of birth.
During COVID, Fauci-led medical overlords stifled dissent, suppressed scientific data, limited speech, and scoured the internet trying to halt “misinformation”. They spent more time and effort trying to stop free speech than the virus.
Be it the efficacy of masks, the usefulness of ivermectin or the now admittedly arbitrary idea of social distancing, they ignored science and common sense. Instead, they scourged their opponents, deplatformed them and held them to public ridicule. They pressed a crown of thorns on the heads of anyone who dared defy them as millions died in hopes of a miracle cure that never arrived.
The greatest threat to this modern power structure came in the form of a man whose greatest sin was he wasn’t beholden to the traditional power brokers. An outsider whose threat to their dominion was so great no tactic, no lie, was beyond use.
Impeachment, incarceration, judicial hounding, and an assassin’s bullet were all used to silence a man and a movement whose real offense was telling the truth and trying to resurrect a country in the stink of decay.
We’ve been crossed up by media and politics. Two entities that have become so deformed that their dual purposes are self-enrichment and self-preservation, not public service, and dissemination of the truth. Manipulated, too many Americans stand in a crowd enraged by their oppressors screaming for the death of the innocent, the destruction of the lawful, and the eradication of the just.
“No Kings” protests are the modern equivalent of the call to release Barrabas. Preferring chaos and perversion, they cling to a world they believe in without seeing. Blinded by rage, prodded by their masters, they call for hate and death and too often get exactly what they are asking for.
On a hill in a place called Calvary, three crosses were erected. Two for thieves and one for an innocent with no blemish or blush of sin upon him.
In politics, it is one crucifixion after another. One endless, hopeless train of death and deceit. Congress and the legacy media are where our hopes go to die. Killed by a cynical desire to maintain the bonfire as it is, no aspiration to be better and no notion we should be.
This weekend we celebrate hope. A hope immune to polemics and division.
When we roll the stone away on Easter, we roll away our hatred, our bitterness, and prejudices to find a future of promise.
When the light of truth pierces the tomb, it is not empty, it is full of salvation. We see, we believe.
We need to exchange being crossed up for the cross up on the hill at Calvary, saved by the redeeming love of Christ.
Happy Easter.
