Connecticut Senator Lizzie Warren thought she could grandstand over Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth’s Cross tattoo, a symbol historically known as “Deus Vult” (God wills it), by claiming it could make him an “insider threat.” Perhaps Hegseth should have told her to just think of it as “War Paint.” Also at Hegseth’s Senate Confirmation hearings, Mazie Hirono (D.-HI) suggested he might “invade Greenland.”
To his credit, Hegseth handled these situations well. Still, should a nominee’s ability to endure such disgusting venom and ankle-biting really bear any weight on his fitness for office? As guardian of the most potent military force on the planet, shouldn’t senators be concerned with issues such as Pete Hegseth’s expected relationship to NATO? Instead, by their actions, we must presume it to be a more significant qualifier that he is able to endure the caustic, female-dog rants of the Democrat post-menopausal hormone imbalance caucus.
Though thoroughly reprehensible, none of this should come as a surprise. Before the hearings even began, Democrat “leader” Chuck Schumer promised to use them for a personal vendetta, turning them “explosive” through such antics in response to Republican grilling of Democrat nominees in the past. By this, Schumer made it clear that Democrats have not been interested in suitably vetting, but in politicizing.
He can give no account for the actual contrast in nominees, and the inarguable unfitness of the atrocious freak show put forth by the Biden Cabal (and readily confirmed by Democrat Senators). So he sinks further still, into a “tit for tat” effort and denigrating worthwhile Trump candidates. By such puerile behavior, Schumer and the Democrats proved they have no interest in gathering information to properly “advise and consent.” Their minds were already made up in blind opposition beforehand, so they just sought to gain politically. In the process, they endangered the Nation, trashed the Constitution and disgraced themselves.
Hard leftist Senator Alex Padilla (D.-CA) took the cue, and wallowed at the lowest depths of the leftist swamp/sewer as he “questioned” Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi by throwing out absurd “yes or no” snares, then incessantly interrupting her whenever she attempted to clarify. Clearly, he did not want answers or information, but only to make his own “statement.” Bondi did right to patiently explain to him that it’s not her job to do his “homework” regarding what actually is in the Constitution, and specifically the 14th Amendment. That was Padilla’s real issue. Open borders leftists insist that America must foot the bill and accept the invasion when anchor babies are involved.
Bondi was ready to explain and defend National sovereignty. But it was evident from Padilla’s constant interruptions, his twisted and devious framing of every “question,” and his unwillingness to allow Bondi to address any of the issues at hand, that he has absolutely no interest in learning where she stands, and no intention of basing his very predictable vote on that information. Instead, he dutifully sputtered and berated along with all the other Democrats. So at Schumer’s urging, the “hearings” have degenerated into typical and predictable leftist venom and strutting.
As such, they are now totally worthless from a Constitutional perspective and only serve as further proof of the disingenuous nature of the Democrat Party. Any pretense of sincerity and concern for the wellbeing of the Nation has been thoroughly discredited for a while. But given their turbocharged efforts since the advent of the phony Biden “administration,” Americans are seeing firsthand just how malicious and agenda driven the Democrats are, and that the actual interests of “We the People” are nothing more than an annoyance they intend to bypass.
The consuming malignancy of Padilla’s effort was further highlighted by his referral to any mention of the flagrantly stolen 2020 Presidential Election as a “conspiracy theory,” which he again diligently insulated from scrutiny by belligerently refusing to allow Bondi to respond on the matter. Instead Bondi took the occasion to offer sympathy for those suffering from the California fires. Again, patience and reserve were the reaction to leftist hysterics.
However, Bondi’s overly gracious expression of concern for the people of California, while well intentioned, actually missed the opportunity to remind them of the real nature of the Democrat career politicians they foolishly elect to ostensibly “represent” them. In truth, Bondi should have pointed to the horrendous mismanagement of California lands and resources which so obviously set the stage for the Los Angeles fires, and furthermore that any efforts to demand accountability from those in office, including Mayor Kass and Governor Newsom, are just as instantly and reflexively dismissed as “conspiracy theories.”
Apparently, this rejoinder still works for self-interested Democrat politicians, because Democrat voters are still willing to fall for it. And when it comes to a leftist with a glaring self interest, nobody compares to California Democrat Adam Schiff, who wanted some sort of “assurance” from Bondi that a cleaned out DOJ with a renewed sense of its proper mission wouldn’t pursue justice on any opponent of Trump. This is nothing short of an admission of guilt by Schiff, and Bondi needs to treat it as such! Apparently, he’s not feeling confident that those proposed “preemptive pardons” which the Biden Cabal has considered issuing other criminals and traitors are still forthcoming.
Schiff knows that any prosecution of the guilty and corrupt in Washington would put him at the center of the crosshairs! Now try and imagine such considerations in the context of a genuine Attorney General confirmation hearing, in which the attending Senators are supposed to determine whether the nominee would be willing and capable of upholding the laws of the Nation. At that point, any honest senator with a clean record would want an assurance that the AG will indeed pursue criminal abuses, thus cleaning out the corruption while protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens. In contrast, Schiff’s panic reflects a shameless attempt to escape justice, which is exactly how those on the right need to characterize his desperate scam.
In truth, the entire effort of the Democrats, starting with Schumer’s “Republicans spent four years attacking the Democratic brand, and we need to use the hearings to begin returning the favor,” presumes a typical leftist phony “moral equivalency” between the corruption and agenda-driven partisanship of leftist basket case “nominees” under Obama, and ostensibly “Biden,” which is starkly different from those of President Trump. His slate of potential cabinet members only constitute a danger to the left because they intend to restore American Government back to its Constitutional boundaries, and away from the over-reaches and abuses of the “deep State.”
Rather than informing the Senate and the American people of a nominee’s fitness for office, these “hearings” have degenerated into the very manner of repugnant leftist grandstanding and deceit by which Fake News and every other leftist dominated venue have destroyed any standing they may once have had with the American people. It is inarguable that none of these strutting Democrats have any intention of actually supporting a Trump nominee, no matter how worthwhile and credentialed they may be. So why should America be subjected to this ugly counterfeit of a “constitutional” process?
During his first term, President Trump wisely decided to ditch the worthless and increasingly nasty “White House Correspondents Dinner,” which had been established on the premise of good natured “off duty” ribbing, but had become just another leftist sewer of partisan attacks. To hear the Democrats and their Fake News minions, in so doing, the President had virtually trampled the 1st Amendment. In the same sense, these faux “hearings” have now been thoroughly debased and corrupted by the Democrats, to the point where they shed no new light on a nominee’s qualifications for office, but only his/her ability to withstand leftist venom and bullying.
The needed information for Senators to make an informed decision is readily available elsewhere. Such sham “hearings” are clearly not fulfilling any worthwhile purpose. It may well be time to totally change the venue. In the meantime, the proper response from real Republicans and Conservatives is to very visibly spotlight the sheer nastiness of the left that is on display, and their real underlying intentions for such abominable behavior.
