Democrats Are In Disastrous Shape As Midterms Loom

5Mind. The Meme Platform

The Democratic Party has never been more unpopular. According to CNN Data Analyst Harry Enten, “The Democratic brand is in the basement. It is total and complete garbage in the mind of the American public.”

Enten noted the Democratic Party favorability ratings are at “record lows” in recent polls by The Wall Street Journal-30%, CNN, -26%, and Gallup, -26%.

Of course, these horrific ratings could not have happened to a more deserving political party. In recent years, the Democrats have offered nothing but socialism and wokeism, mixed with anti-police, anti-Israeli, and anti-American policies. The party is most enthusiastic about their hatred for President Donald Trump, not helping the American people prosper.

Almost all of America’s largest cities are led by Democrats, who have delivered prohibitive tax rates, poor public services, high crime rates and a declining quality of life. It is no surprise that Americans are fleeing “blue” states and “blue” cities, run by leftwing Democrats.

After the Democrats pushed the “defund the police” movement, it has become difficult for “blue” cities to recruit enough law enforcement officers. Thus, these cities are crime ridden hellholes with too few police officers and too many criminals.

In recent days, Americans witnessed a vicious beatdown in Cincinnati and a mass shooting in New York City. In Cincinnati, the response from local officials has been atrocious with the mayor remaining on vacation and one city council member blaming the victims for their beating.

In New York City, the leading candidate for Mayor, Zohran Mamdani, is a socialist who has called for defunding the police and the disbanding of the Strategic Response Group, a crime fighting unit. He has repeatedly labeled the New York Police Department “wicked and corrupt” as well as “racist” and has advocated the reallocation of resources from the police toward social services.

In addition, Mamdani claims that New York’s taxes need to be raised, grocery stores should be operated by city government and has supported “seizing the means of production.” His ludicrous proposals are being embraced by young Democrats, such as those who attended the Voters of Tomorrow Summit in Washington D.C. last weekend. One attendee, Ayan Molodina, said young people are “fired up” about Mamdani. She believes that he brings a “fresh perspective that people are looking for.”

Sadly, instead of bringing a “fresh perspective” Mamdani’s proposals are guaranteed to fail, just like in the former communist dictatorships of the Soviet Union and East Germany and the current ones in Cuba and North Korea.

Today, Democrats are unrealistic about their party’s platform and leadership. Many of the young Democrats want the failed socialist policies espoused by Mamdani and his strongest supporter, U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). In the latest polling average of potential 2028 Democratic Party presidential candidates, Ocasio-Cortez is in fourth place at 11.9%.

There is no clear frontrunner for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination. In fact, Enten claims that the Democrats  “are historically divided. It is a complete and utter mess. It is messier than a hoarder’s basement. What are we talking about here? The national early poll leader 25% plus, normally that’s where Democrats are. Biden was at 25% plus in 2020, Hillary Clinton was in ’08 and ’16, Gore was in ’00 and ’04.” At this point, Enten continues, “there is no one, no one in the Democratic race for president who’s polling at 25% plus.”

There is such a lack of leadership that leftwing radio host Charlamagne tha God wants a comedian to compete for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination. He said, “I would love to see Jon Stewart run in 28.” The host praised Stewart as a “change agent” who would “shake things up.”

Instead of a “change agent,” the current polling leader for the 2028 Democratic Party presidential nomination is former Vice President Kamala Harris with only 21.1% support. She returned to the spotlight last week to appear on a  canceled talk show and to promote a book about her disastrous and short-lived 2024 presidential campaign.

If the book blasts her former boss, President Joe Biden, and reveals her concerns about his cognitive decline, political journalist Mark Halperin says Biden’s allies will unleash a slew of negative stories about her. Halperin stated,  “If the Biden people feel threatened, you will hear stories about Kamala Harris as vice president that will not make her look good.”

Of course, both Harris and Biden were utter disasters; however, these were the leaders that the Democratic Party offered to the American people. Thankfully, Harris was overwhelmingly rejected by the voters last year.

Instead of learning from their mistakes and trying a course correction, Democrats are doubling down on their insanely leftist policies. The momentum from activists is pushing the party to move further to the left instead of the political center and closer to the views of most Americans.

This dubious strategy will work, in the view of Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin. In a podcast interview on Friday, Martin claimed Americans have “buyer’s remorse” and that Republicans “are the wrong side of the issues.” Furthermore, he boasted that Republicans are “headed towards a certain election loss next year.” Really, the approval rating for the leader of the Republican Party, President Trump, is at 49%, according to the latest Rasmussen poll.

In contrast, Americans have a dim view of congressional Democrats with a recent Quinnipiac University poll showing their approval rating among the American people at a disastrous 19%.  Their disapproval rating was an astounding 72%.

Consequently, if the American people are happy with President Trump’s performance in office, yet totally dissatisfied with the actions of congressional Democrats, why would voters change control of Congress in the midterm elections?

Undoubtedly, Democrats have history on their side as the party “out of power” normally wins seats in the midterm elections. However, Democrats today are without effective leadership and offering failed policies. They are delusional to believe this behavior will be rewarded by the American voters next year.
