WASHINGTON—The Heritage Foundation announced today the promotion of EJ Antoni to chief economist. Antoni previously served The Heritage Foundation as a research fellow and the Richard Aster Fellow in The Heritage Foundation’s Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget.

Antoni said of his promotion:

“It’s an honor to be appointed chief economist of The Heritage Foundation, an organization which has been the vanguard of conservatism for more than 50 years. In my time at Heritage, I’ve been privileged to shape some of our most consequential fiscal and monetary policies alongside a team of talented, driven economists who consistently fight for our nation, our families, and our God-given freedoms.

“The next three years present an unprecedented opportunity for America to return to fiscal sanity, reestablish our global dominance, and solve our cost-of-living crisis. I am grateful to Dr. Roberts for his vote of confidence in me and am excited to help Heritage chart the path forward.”

As The Heritage Foundation’s chief economist, Antoni will be responsible for advancing economic policies that promote economic freedom, expand opportunity, and further The Heritage Foundation’s efforts to rein in wasteful government spending.

Dr. Kevin Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation, added:

“EJ Antoni is one of the sharpest economic minds in the country — a fearless truth-teller who understands that sound economics serves the interests of the American people, not the globalist elites. I’m proud to name him our chief economist.

“The Heritage Foundation is committed to protecting American families and rebuilding a resilient American economy, not movement sloganeering or ideological purity. Free markets aren’t about mere accumulation and consumption but creating a world of productive ownership and family-supporting jobs so that people can thrive, couples can afford to raise children, traditions can continue, and faith can flourish. In other words, the economy was made for people, not the other way around.

“Alongside EJ, The Heritage Foundation will continue its work of disassembling the economic failings of our system that funnel money to the parasitical enemies of the American way of life and reassemble the great, productive American economic system of free enterprise and meaningful work — the dynamic engine that drove the American Dream and that is our future.”

Derrick Morgan, executive vice president of The Heritage Foundation, added:

“The Heritage Foundation is thrilled to announce Dr. EJ Antoni as its new chief economist, bringing his exceptional ability to communicate complex economic ideas with clarity and passion to advocate for the American people. Known for his insightful analysis, Dr. Antoni is deeply committed to promoting conservative economic policies that spread prosperity to everyone.”

Antoni’s work has been featured with numerous think tanks and institutes including Unleash Prosperity, where he is a senior fellow. He also frequently presents his research in testimony before the U.S. Congress and state legislatures. Previously, he was an economist at Texas Public Policy Foundation and has taught courses ranging from labor economics to money and banking. Antoni holds master’s and doctoral degrees in economics and regularly speaks at colleges and financial institutions.

Antoni’s perspective has been sought out by a variety of news outlets including Fox News and Fox Business, Wall Street Journal, Townhall, Bloomberg, Daily Caller, National Review, CNBC, Washington Times, Washington Examiner, Breitbart, The Federalist, and others. He is a daily guest on news and business television and regularly appears on many podcasts and radio programs, including the nationally syndicated VINCE Show, where he is the in-house economist.
