iPhone Subliminally tags ‘Trump’ a ‘racist’

These are the oddest of times we are now living, and here is more proof.

Yesterday on the โ€œXโ€, formerly Twitter, social media platform conservative podcaster Alex Jones dropped an unbelievable story about Apple iPhones. The story he offered applies to some, but not all, Apple iPhones. The story goes when you use the voice-to-text microphone feature on your iPhone and speak the word โ€œracistโ€ into the texting application, you briefly see the word โ€œTrumpโ€.

โ€œiPhone voice-to-text appears to write ‘Trump’ when user says ‘racist’: iPhoneโ€™s voice-to-text feature briefly shows โ€œTrumpโ€ when a user says โ€˜Racistโ€™.โ€ โ€“ Fox News

While this latest scandal appears to work on some iPhones, it, apparently, does not work on all model editions of iPhones.

Some technical experts believe it may have been programmed into the latest software update for some model Apple iPhones by an Apple programmer gone rogue. Apple released their most recent iPhone software update, iOS 18.3, for every iPhone from the iPhone XS on just this month. But Apple has re-released the software with a new build number, for three iPhones models only: iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Apple iPhones represent 17% of the world market and 59% of the American market. Globally, Android type phones are said to have 71% of the world market.

Apple has called the new performance phenomena a โ€œglitchโ€.

Public outrage for subliminal advertising began in 1957, after marketing researchers James Vicary and Frances Thayer published a study where they claimed subliminally presenting the words โ€œEat popcornโ€ and โ€œDrink Coca-Colaโ€ a few milliseconds during a movie increased popcorn sales by 58% and Coca-Cola sales by 18%.

While subliminal messaging is not illegal in the United States, it is frowned upon and considered deceptive advertising. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has stated subliminal advertising is “contrary to the public interest”.

The way the convention works is it appeals to your subconscious without your conscious self being aware you are being manipulated.

Many believe the 1957 experiment on humans came about because of a 1927 experiment by Russian psychologist Ivan Pavlov.

In 1927 Pavlov conducted an experiment where he would ring a bell shortly before presenting food to his test subject dogs. When he began his experiments, the dogs did not salivate in response to the sound of the bell. However, over time they learned to associate the sound of the bell with the food served. They thus began to salivate at the sound of the bell involuntarily. He termed his experiment โ€œclassical conditioningโ€.

CONCLUSION:

I tried this little experiment with my wife last night on our iPhones and it worked immediately on the first try. Thereafter it did not work until we turned our phones off and tried it again. Our phones are iPhone 13s and our software build version is iOS 18.3.1.

Some might sit there in shock or disbelief. This was pretty much the reaction of my wife and me.

Some might enjoy it and see it as funny. I found nothing funny about this but it did remind me of The Office episode where Jim pranked Dwight with Altoids which I did think was funny.

Some might think how stupid so many Americans are and become concerned by the long-term implications of this little stunt and wonder it might not be more widespread.

This last one is one Elon Musk and I share as noted in this post he made on his โ€œXโ€ social media platform yesterday. And this last one is the one I came to settle with in my mind.

Whoever did this at Apple disrespected not just President Donald J. Trump as a person but our highest office, the presidency, and for that this Apple employee, he or she, should be terminated with prejudice.

President Trump is not a racist and he has the historical proof in photographs and charitable giving to prove it. But we have many minority members of Congress who are racists and they have no such history in photographs or giving! They are:

  • Jamaal Bowman
  • Cori Bush
  • Jasmine Crockett
  • Maxwell Frost
  • Hakeem Jeffries
  • Sheila Jackson Lee
  • Ilhan Omar
  • Ayanna Pressley
  • Rashida Tlaib
  • Maxine Waters

The Trump Administration Federal Communications Commission (FCC) should immediately ban subliminal messaging!
