A suspect in a fatal shooting at Brown University was found dead Thursday, officials announced.
At a news conference Thursday evening, Col. Oscar Perez, the Providence police chief, identified the suspect as Claudio Neves Valente, a 48-year-old Portuguese national who attended Brown.
The man appears to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Perez said. He was found in New Hampshire.
The Dec. 13 shooting at Brown University left two dead and nine injured.
