Just about every working taxpaying American is familiar with the welfare fraud committed by the immigrant Somali community of Minnesota. By now this same population of makers has been familiarized with the takers who began this fraud during the COVID pandemic of 2020 under the guise of a “need to feed the children”. Since this discovery we have come to learn some 80% of immigrant Somalis have been living on some form of American public aid ever since they arrived here. They have failed to assimilate and adapt to American society by every metric.
What came as new news this month came from a very young and talented news reporter by the name of Nick Shirley who has almost 1 million followers on the Internet. Shirley posted his first video on February 9, 2019. His first video was of him traveling to New York at the young age of 16. He traveled there without his parents knowledge. The Farmington, Utah, high school graduate posts videos of himself visiting different places and interviewing people on the streets. He has covered various topics, such as New York’s subway, Ireland’s migrant crisis, surviving in California homeless, New York’s mass deportation crisis, and Canada becoming part of the United States. His interviews are both entertaining and informative. As one fan posted on his most recent YouTube video, “Nick does what journalists used to do 20 years ago.”
In this case Shirley went to Minneapolis to do a deep dive into the Somali community to see what other ways they have been possibly ripping off the American taxpayers besides food service and health insurance centers. It didn’t take him long to find child daycare centers without children.

His story got picked up by FOX News and that was about it for mainstream news media reporting.

In Shirley’s interview of David he reports, “The government knows they’re writing the checks. Yeah, the Democrats over there writing, just writing the checks… What has happened is that the Somali community is a very closed community. They will not speak to anyone outside the community and talk about what’s going on within the community. They vote as a block. And so when you’re a politician, you’re saying, ‘Look, I’ve got 100,000 people in Minnesota that if I do something for the community, they’re going to vote for me.’ And that’s what it’s all about is getting the votes.
And then the people here in Minnesota, you hear this term Minnesota nice. I’m so sick of that term. The people here are so afraid of being called a racist or an Islamophobe and they’re just they’re afraid of their own shadow. And I don’t understand this is our, our, future generations are going to have to pay for all this fraud and they just want to bury their heads in the sand and go on and just not worry about it. Tim Walz (Minnesota Governor) saying there’s organized crime in Minnesota. What did he do about it? Nothing! You got organized crime? What are you… What are you doing?
This is the Minnesota law (David holds up papers) which mandates that anyone who knows of fraud and is a state employee must report that fraud. It’s Minnesota statute 3.971 subdivision 9. Not only that, but Walz is also guilty of misconduct of a public employee. When I look at the world as whole, and I look at fraud, the Twin Cities is ground zero.”
CONCLUSION:
Elon Musk himself chimed in on Shirley’s video posting, “The radical left has been using fraudulent government programs for a long time to import and retain vast numbers of illegal (and legal, in some cases) immigrants to win elections and turn America into a single-party state, destroying any real democracy. The more you look at it, the more you will be horrified at what your tax money is doing and the fact that, if this is not reversed, your vote will mean nothing.
The most obvious case example is the Somali voting bloc in Minnesota, a state that historically had zero Somalis, electing Ilhan Omar to the US Congress. The same is happening in Europe, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand,” Musk concluded.
The truly frightening part of this story which has now gone global despite the neglect of the American “legacy media” is the fact this central researcher named “David” apparently did not want his last name used due to fear for his life. If that sounds crazy, Somalis began following David and Nick around the city in their car after a few visits to seemingly bogus child daycare centers refusing to take Nick’s imaginary son, little Joey Shirley.
In no instance were David and Nick allowed in the front door of any of these buildings allegedly operating fake businesses. At one point Shirley noted he hired a security firm to escort him through a particularly sketchy part of Minneapolis.
What makes this story particularly outrageous is twofold:
- USAID money was (apparently) used by the Democrats to pull off this fraud as was discovered by Elon Musk and his DOGE committee and Governor Tim Walz managed to see that money come into his state and get squandered to the point of taking Minnesota from having a cash surplus to a cash deficit in just 2 years!
- At least some of that money was reverse shipped back to Somalia to the terrorist organization known as Al-Shabaab. This month U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced his department is investigating allegations that funds stolen from Minnesota state programs, such as the massive “Feeding Our Future” pandemic relief fraud, may have been diverted to Al-Shabaab.
The fact that our mainstream news media is refusing to cover this Nick Shirley story is nothing less than criminal malpractice. The American public has a right to know which trumps the Democrats right to privacy in the commission of their crimes!
We are talking fraud on the scale of BILLIONS, not MILLIONS, of taxpayer dollars.
