ProPublica’s Latest ”Bombshell Report:” Clarence Thomas Has a Rich Friend!

Right Wire Report Header

Liberal media outlets are so repetitive and boring these days that they are constantly looking for a way to distinguish themselves from the rest of the bilge. The outlet called ProPublica is doing that by turning mundane pieces of information into “groundbreaking investigations.”

The latest “bombshell report” from ProPublica: one of Clarence Thomas’s friends is a billionaire:

“For more than two decades, Thomas has accepted luxury trips virtually every year from the Dallas businessman without disclosing them, documents and interviews show. A public servant who has a salary of $285,000, he has vacationed on Crow’s superyacht around the globe. He flies on Crow’s Bombardier Global 5000 jet. He has gone with Crow to the Bohemian Grove, the exclusive California all-male retreat, and to Crow’s sprawling ranch in East Texas. And Thomas typically spends about a week every summer at Crow’s private resort in the Adirondacks.”

Throughout its existence, ProPublica has shown very little interest in “bombshell investigations” that reflect negatively on Democrats. For example, they shied away from exposing how a mafia boss identifying as a “public servant,” Randi Weingarten, concealed making millions off the Covid pandemic. That story, somehow, escaped the very dedicated “investigative journalists” of ProPublica. Instead, they chose to be outraged that Justice Thomas took a vacation without checking with them first.

Here is Wall Street Journal’s spectacular takedown of the garbage “reporting” by ProPublica:

“The piece is loaded with words and phrases intended to convey that this is all somehow disreputable: “superyacht”; “luxury trips”; “exclusive California all-male retreat”; “sprawling ranch”; “private chefs”; “elegant accommodation”; “opulent lodge”; “lavishing the justice with gifts.” And more.

Adjectival overkill is the method of bad polemicists who don’t have much to report.”

ProPublica’s “report” reveals no impropriety by Justice Thomas.  His friend, Harlan Crow, was not involved in any cases that Justice Thomas has opined on.  There was no legal or ethical requirement for Justice Thomas to disclose any of his activities with Mr. Crow.  That, however, is not stopping the Democrats from demanding Justice Thomas’ immediate resignation:

Ted Lieu – a person who thinks a Congressman’s job description is retweeting memes 8 hours a day – is admitting he does not care if Justice Thomas is actually corrupt. Justice Thomas is not the man who advances liberal causes, and therefore, just the “appearance” alone should be a reason for his ouster.

Needless to say, the “bad optics” standard does not apply to Ted Lieu’s ideological soulmates. For example, the person identifying as the President of the United States is currently under investigation for selling his soul to America’s enemies (details here). However, the media believes that “making money off your last name” is part of a Democrat’s job description:

A very different standard applies to conservative Supreme Court Justices. Just by the very circumstance of having a social life outside the courtroom, they are guilty of “ethics violations.” And instead of immediately resigning for the terribly immoral act of attending a Christmas party, they keep declaring that they didn’t violate any rules. But according to Democrat Senator Chris Murphy, “not violating the rules” is exactly what makes them guilty!

As Stalin said, “Find me a man, and I’ll find you a crime.” The Left has certainly found their man in Justice Thomas, and they have been desperately searching for a crime that they can pin on him. And even though Justice Thomas is the most stellar and courageous figure on the American political scene today, the “heavyweight” AOC is crying for his impeachment:

When you think of being “cartoonish to the level of shocking,” AOC’s picture is what comes to mind. The accusation of “ethics violation” comes from a woman who is currently under an ethics investigation for doing this:

“The American Accountability Foundation has filed a complaint and demanded that Representative Ocasio-Cortez be held accountable for her clear violation of congressional ethics while attending this year’s Met Gala in New York City. Though claiming her attendance to the $35,000 a plate event was part of her “official duties,” there are serious questions about whether or not her ticket – donated or purchased with campaign funds – was permissible under the code of congressional ethics.”

As AOC prepares to file articles of impeachment against Justice Thomas, here is an advice from Jerry Seinfeld:
