Secretary Noem Hosts Press Conference to Provide Updates on the Shooting of Customs and Border Protection Officer

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem delivered an update in New York following the July 19 shooting of an off-duty U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer during what appears to have been an attempted robbery.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) is actively investigating the incident. Secretary Noem was joined by federal and local law enforcement partners, including officials from the U.S. Attorneyโ€™s Office for the Southern District of New York, the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, CBP leadership and Immigration and Customs Enforcementโ€™s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) division.
