Seditious Silliness

5Mind. The Meme Platform

Every fisherman knows that baiting a hook and dropping a line in the water is no guarantee a fish will be caught. That’s why so many fishing trips end in a meal of hamburgers and French fries. Unlike the elusive fish, President Trump always bites when Democrats and the Press cast their lures of lunacy, or does he?

A group of Democrats just posted a video in which they remind all US military personnel that they have the right to ignore “illegal” orders. This band of brainless bumkins offer no actual unlawful or illegal orders to which military members might object, instead their lone purpose was to tempt Trump to reply.

Senators Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., and Representatives Maggie Goodlander, D-N.H., Chrissy Houlahan, D-Pa., Jason Crow, D-Colo., and Chris Deluzio, D-Pa. posted the now viral video. They showed no concern for the potential that their political posturing could entice similarly featherbrained and deranged soldiers to commit treason, or worse yet violence.

Trump, who is a veritable whirling dervish of media multitudes, was rightly enraged and responded with his usual fiery flourish. On Truth Social, the president’s words were both angry and appropriate, “Their words cannot be allowed to stand,” Trump said. “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP??? President DJT.”

Trump then reminded us that the penalty for sedition is of the severest form. “Punishable by DEATH,” he wrote.

As has been the case all along, the whale they tried to catch wriggled free and now the hunters become the hunted. The careless caustic comments of the tone-deaf Democrats meant to harpoon Moby Trump, instead leave them as the flotsam and jetsam they are, adrift aimlessly on the sea.

On the surface, one might see Trump’s response as proof that he took the Democratsโ€™ bait, but on closer inspection it is clear it’s the Democrats who find themselves inside Trump’s net lured by his all-caps clickbait. A net from which they can’t seem to escape.

Trump, like it or not, believes there is no slight, no offense no matter how looney or misbegotten, that isn’t deserving of response. He is to the news cycle what the sun is to the dawn; bright, heat producing, and inevitable.

Despite what the legacy press might like you to believe Trump’s response was as measured and reasonable as the Democrats’ vapid video.

The video doesn’t cite any specific unlawful orders because there have been none. It is more like a public service announcement for the obvious. Every soldier knows they are not constitutionally required to obey an illegal order.

What they also know is that their commissioning oath states, “I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”

These doofus Democrats imply an order is “unlawful” just because it is issued by Trump. Stupid is as stupid does.

Trump on the other hand takes it as an opportunity to remind them that sedition is a serious crime with serious consequences, even if the reply was in response to utter nonsense.

Proving it was the Democrats who were hooked rather than the president, we turn to none other than that paragon of pandering and pablum, Senator Chuck Schumer D-NY. Senator Shutdown was obviously being reeled in by Trump when he went ballistic.

On the Senate floor Schumer said Trump was explicitly calling “for the execution of elected officials. This is an outright threat, and it’s deadly serious,” and “When Donald Trump uses the language of execution and treason, some of his supporters may very well listen, he is lighting a match in a country soaked with political gasoline.”

It is impossible to take seriously such an inflammatory statement made by the gas pump jockey himself. He is no match for Trump, and the only thing โ€œsoakedโ€ is Schumerโ€™s diaper.

Trump’s trap ensnares his enemies by baiting them into the very rhetoric and actions for which they so excoriate him. Schumer’s blathering is exactly the response Trump sought; thoughtless, fractious, and foolish.

Because Trump remains a cause of deranged infuriation Democrats aren’t “for” anything and are “against” only Trump. This is how this absurd video came to be, as part of an unending production of useless political theater based only on their hate for Trump.

That Trump refuses to miss a day before the microphones, cameras, or keyboard is part of his charm and success, even for those of us who wish he would take the occasional day off.

There is no greater proof of Trump’s preeminence in the frontal lobes of the Left than this seditious silliness.

Democrats are on the hook and Trump will always be โ€œthe one that got away.โ€
