Texas Man Arrested for Allegedly Trespassing at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Resort

No Secret Service protectees were present at the estate when the alleged incident took place, according to a Secret Service spokesperson.

A Texas man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly scaling the perimeter fence of President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, according to the Secret Service.

Anthony Thomas Reyes, 23, was taken into custody by the Palm Beach Police Department after being detained by Secret Service personnel at the estate, a Secret Service spokesperson told The Epoch Times by email.

“Shortly after midnight, the individual scaled a perimeter fence and triggered alarms,” the spokesperson stated, adding that Secret Service agents detained Reyes at the scene without incident.

Palm Beach Police responded to the incident and arrested the man. The Secret Service spokesperson said that neither Trump nor any other Secret Service protectees were present at the Mar-a-Lago estate when the alleged incident took place.

“We appreciate the continued partnership and swift response of the Palm Beach Police Department,” the spokesperson stated.

Reyes has been charged with trespassing with the “intent to commit an offense” and is currently being held at Palm Beach County Jail. His bond was set at $50,000, according to public records from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

It remains unclear whether Reyes has been assigned a legal representative at the time of writing.

The White House said in an emailed statement to The Epoch Times that Trump is aware of the incident.
