The America Party Will Harm Democrats The Most

5Mind. The Meme Platform

It is now official; tech billionaire Elon Musk has formed the America Party. He conducted a poll on X.com asking his followers whether they wanted “independence from the two-party system! Should we create the America Party?”

The post received 83.9 million views and 1.2 million people voted. The results showed that 65.4% of the respondents favored a new party, while 34.6% were opposed.

After announcing the results of his online poll, Musk posted “By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party, and you shall have it. When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy.” Musk vowed that his new party would give Americans back “your freedom.”

Musk’s goal with the new party will be limited to certain congressional districts. He said, “One way to execute on this would be to laser-focus on just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts. Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people.”

If Musk moves beyond trying to elect a few members of Congress to field a presidential candidate in 2028, the odds are stacked against him. The last third-party candidate to win a presidential election was Abraham Lincoln in 1860.

Subsequently, there have been two serious third-party presidential bids. In 1912, Teddy Roosevelt won 27.4% of the vote as a candidate of the Progressive Party. Eighty years later, in 1992, oil businessman Ross Perot won 18.9% of the vote as an independent candidate.

The creation of the new party is the culmination of Musk’s growing dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump and the Republican Party. Ever since his departure from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk has been extremely critical of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” (OBBB).

Musk claimed that it would create trillions of dollars in new debt and focus on the industries of the past and not the future. In response, President Trump observed that Musk benefits from many government subsidies. He said, “DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon.”

The new political party is emerging after the most successful period in the Trump presidency. He authorized a successful military strike on Iran that “obliterated” the country’s nuclear facilities. Thereafter, Trump was able to negotiate a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, ending the “12 Day War.”

On Independence Day, Trump signed into law the OBBB that was a tremendous legislative victory for the President and the Republican Party, considering their narrow majorities in both houses of Congress.

These successes occurred while President Trump is extremely popular among Republicans. CNN Data Analyst Harry Enten revealed new polling showing that Trump is receiving the strong support of 63% of Republicans, which is higher approval ratings among Republicans than any President on record, even Ronald Reagan.

Enten explained that the staunch support is “just part of the Republican base in which about 90 percent of them overall approve of him.” He continued, “You do not want to go against Donald Trump because the Republican base is with Donald Trump.”

Enten also noted that in Republican primary contests, 96% of the candidates endorsed by Trump won their election.

By challenging Trump, Musk is destined to fail with Republican voters. After ten years of campaigning, risking his life, enduring lawfare and abuse, Trump has an unbreakable bond with Republican voters.

In contrast, Democrats are a party in disarray. For the 2028 presidential nomination, their leading candidate is Pete Buttigieg with 16%, followed by former Vice President Kamala Harris at 13%.

Amazingly, Democrats prefer Buttigieg, a failed 2020 presidential candidate, Transportation Secretary and South Bend, Indiana Mayor, to any other candidate. It shows the Democratic Party is totally bereft of leadership.

The Democrats are a party that has turned far left politically and have been unable to point to any successes nationwide. Most of the major cities in the United States are governed by Democrats and have become cesspools of corruption, crime, and dilapidated infrastructure. People are fleeing these cities, along with states led by Democrats, to move to “Red States,” such as Florida and Texas, which are governed by Republicans.

To have success with the America Party, Musk will have to draw support from both Republicans and Democrats. Initially, most of the enthusiasm for this project is coming from left-of-center celebrities, such as gadfly billionaire Mark Cuban and former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci, who only lasted eleven days in his position.

To make matters worse, Musk, a native of South Africa, has chosen Vaibhav Taneja, a native of India, as the Treasurer for the new party. Can two non-American natives lead the America Party?

In one regard, Musk’s choice of Treasurer makes sense. He has been an ardent supporter of the H-1B Visa program, which allows employers “to hire nonimmigrant aliens as workers in specialty occupations.”

Musk’s immigration views, along with his close cooperation with the Chinese government, his support of the expansion of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and his advocacy for tax breaks and subsidies for electric vehicles, solar power, and wind power, indicate many disagreements with most Republican voters.

Despite his views, some conservatives, such as commentator Shawn Farash, are alarmed by Musk’s new party. He posted,  “Your third party will disproportionately take votes from the right vs the left and give the left an easier path to power.”

In actuality, the Republicans are too united to be enticed by Musk’s new party. White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields remarked, “As the leader of the Republican Party, President Trump has unified and grown the party in a way we’ve never seen…, the party is stronger than ever and in lockstep with the Trump agenda.”

The big loser with the entry of Musk’s new party will be the Democrats, who are very disorganized, dejected and fractured.
