The Time I Used Michael Moore’s Words Against Him

Filmmaker Michael Moore took to the mainstream media Sunday to put his two cents in on this year’s presidential election.

“The gift that the Trump campaign keeps giving us. I don’t think they realized, I don’t think they really are in touch with where the majority of Americans are at,” Moore said on MSNBC Sunday. “The majority of Americans do not want this divisiveness, they don’t want a threat of violence. We are okay to disagree with each other, but that’s where it ends. We go to vote, who wins, wins. Half the time, I have been very happy with who has won, and the other half of the time, I haven’t been. And we move on with our lives.”

Moore talking smack against Trump and Republicans took me back to a memory of 20 years ago when I helped President George W. Bush win an election in my own small way by defeating the liberals at the college where I taught.

As has been noted many times before, much of higher education is ruled by liberal Democrats who bring their partisan politics into the workplace when it should really be checked at the door. Republicans never get equal time which basically makes higher education institutions of indoctrination.

So back in 2004 when Republican President George W. Bush was running as an incumbent against Democrat John Kerry the faculty advisors (all liberal Democrats) of our college decided it would be a good idea to use some of the student activity money to have a film showing of Michael Moore’s new movie “Fahrenheit 911”.

That film, directed by Michael Moore, criticized the Bush administration’s attempt to pursue Osama bin Laden in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks as well as the Iraq War. Essentially it was political propaganda without a counterpoint to be offered by the Bush Administration and the Republican Party.

“FAHRENHEIT 9/11 (2004) | Full Movie Trailer in HD | 1080p”

I took it upon myself to destroy this showing of Moore’s new film and I did so in a most ingenious way that still makes me laugh. I had been up late the night before researching all kinds of Moore quotes and printing them on half-page flyers to leave all around the student lounges of the college. I did all of this on my own time and on my own dime.

Early that one morning in October of 2004, the day the Moore film was to be shown, I got up early at home and headed into the college. I was there by 6:00 when my usual arrival time was 8:00. I was on a mission to leave all kinds of piles of handout flyers for the students to read before the Moore film showing. This is what those flyers said:

Michael Moore, In His Own Words

“If Americans embrace religion, individualism and capitalism, then Canadians must therefore embrace secularism, collectivism and socialism.”

“I like America to some extent.”

“I would like to apologize for referring to George W. Bush as a ‘deserter.’ What I meant to say is that George W. Bush is a deserter, an election thief, a drunk driver, a WMD liar, and a functional illiterate. And he poops his pants.”

“I’m a millionaire, I’m a multi-millionaire. I’m filthy rich. You know why I’m a multi-millionaire? ‘Cause multi-millions like what I do.”

“There’s a gullible side to the American people. They can be easily misled. Religion is the best device used to mislead them.”

“There’s a reason that they’re saying Kerry is the No. 1 liberal in the Senate, it’s because he is the No. 1 liberal in the Senate.”

“The motivation for war is simple. The U.S. government started the war with Iraq in order to make it easy for U.S. corporations to do business in other countries. They intend to use cheap labor in those countries, which will make Americans rich.”

“These bastards who run our country are a bunch of conniving, thieving, smug pricks who need to be brought down and removed and replaced with a whole new system that we control.”

“Should such an ignorant people lead the world? How did it come to this in the first place? 82 percent of us don’t even have a passport! Just a handful can speak a language other than English.”

That day faculty was told to let any students who wanted to attend this showing of the Moore film out of our classes that morning. None of my students left but during break, I did. I went down to see how many students showed up after my flyers. The place was as empty as a Kamala Harris rally after Beyoncé left. LOL

CONCLUSION:

The point of this article is this is proof: Some twenty years ago liberal Democrats were just as hateful, negative, lying, and disgusting as they are today. One could say Michael Moore was just one of the first to arrive to that “Party of Joy”.

After having destroyed the showing of Moore’s film using his own words, I was in a pretty good mood and couldn’t stop smiling. Then our campus law enforcement arrived to my office. They arrived to tell me they were watching me at 6:00 in the morning on their newly installed security cameras in the hallways and then high-fived me and told me, “Well done!”

After that visit by the law, I could not stop smiling both at my own stupidity and the fact I had other Republican friends on campus I did not even know about.

I am not saying Michael Moore did not make some valid points in his production of “Fahrenheit 911”. It is just the same way some on the left do not like the way Trump comes off to them, I do not like how Moore comes off to us on the right. Irony.

The issue I have with Moore is he tears America down while Trump works to build it up.
