The White House previously warned that Iran’s infrastructure would be targeted if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz.
President Donald Trump warned of a large-scale bombing of Iran’s infrastructure on Tuesday if a deal to open the Hormuz Strait was not reached.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on April 5.
Trump went on to add that if the Iranian regime does not open the Strait of Hormuz, they will be “living in hell.”
The Strait of Hormuz is a crucial passageway located just south of Iran used to transport a fifth of the world’s oil and gas.
Trump also told Fox News Channel’s Trey Yingst that he’s considering taking over the oil controlled by Iran if a deal is not made.
But there’s a chance that tensions won’t escalate, according to Yingst, who said Trump told the news outlet that he believed Iran would make a deal with the United States by Monday.
The Epoch Times contacted the White House for comment.
