The president is meeting with business leaders to discuss how best to meet the energy and computing needs of the future.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to attend the inaugural Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh on July 15, with a focus of his remarks on a new announcement of $70 billion in investments targeting artificial intelligence and other industries, according to the host of the event, Sen. Dave McCormick (R-Pa.)

“There’s no question that the path to American energy dominance runs directly through Pennsylvania, and this Summit will celebrate all our Commonwealth has to offer,” McCormick said in a statement. “Harnessing Pennsylvania’s unique strengths to attract new data center investment and energy infrastructure development will jumpstart Pennsylvania’s economy, create great, new jobs, and bolster our national security.”

High-profile panelists and industry representatives are joining investors and cabinet members from the Trump administration during a one-day summit that includes four panels and a roundtable meeting with the president.

“The Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit will align the leading energy companies, the most innovative AI platforms, global investors, and labor and trades behind President Trump’s agenda to unleash American energy potential,” McCormick said. “Together, we can usher in a new age of energy production and power the AI and technological revolution. I am grateful to President Trump for announcing he will join us in Pittsburgh.”

With dollars pouring in to fund a new wave of energy innovation, McCormick convened the event to catapult the region into the global spotlight and position the state to take advantage of growing demand.

“This Summit will showcase Pennsylvania’s incredible potential to power the AI revolution and create opportunities for Pennsylvanians,” the senator’s office said in a statement emailed to The Epoch Times.

The morning begins with a group discussion about “The AI Race and How to Win It,” with panelists that include Jon Gray, president and chief operating officer of Blackstone; and David Sacks, AI and crypto czar at the White House,
