President Donald Trump says the US military has killed Qasim al-Rimi, the leader of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. The affiliate has long been considered the global network’s most dangerous branch. It’s carried out attacks not only on the US mainland, but also in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Francis Collings reports.

Qasim al-Rimi, the head of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula , has been revealed as the target of a raid in Yemen last week in which a Navy SEAL, 14 al Qaeda fighters and several civilians were killed. But al-Rimi is still alive and is now taunting President Trump. NBC News senior legal and investigative correspondent Cynthia McFadden reports for TODAY.
