Biden Presents a Hobson’s Choice for Ds & Rs (Part I)

The polls indicate Democrats do not want Biden to run again, but the party is not actively seeking a primary challenger who could win the 2024 general election. Democrats are forgetting unknowns like Bill Clinton and Obama won. The Democrat’s inaction is forcing the party into a “Hobson’s Choice” of accepting one of two or more equally objectional alternatives. Unwittingly, fate might come to their rescue.

The outcome of the House Oversight Committee’s investigation of the Biden Family Syndicate (“BFS”) is likely to expose stunning criminal activity that leaves the Republicans with no choice but to impeach Biden. At this point, the Republicans will be confronted with their Hobson’s choice. If Biden is impeached and convicted, or more likely impeached and resigns, Kamala Harris, 58, becomes president for the remainder of the term. The odds are almost 100% that she would seek reelection as president. Notwithstanding her tortured laugh and inability to speak in coherent sentences, as a woman and a minority, she will be a stronger candidate in 2024 than Uncle Joe.

What do Republicans do in this situation? As the world stands, 69% of the American public view foreign payments to the BFS as a serious scandal. Moreover, on the issues of competency in governing, Biden has some of the lowest approval ratings in the history of polling. A Washington Post poll finds only 31% want Biden to be the nominee. A New York Post poll has the number at 12%. Biden’s approval rating has dipped to 35%. In early polls, Biden loses to Trump and DeSantis. If any Democrat nominee looks like a sure loser in 2024, it’s Biden.

The risk for Republicans arises when the House Oversight Committee presents clear and convincing evidence of Biden’s crimes. At that point the Committee creates a Hobson’s choice for the Republicans. Does the House let Biden stay in office so he can be defeated in 2024, or does it impeach him, which might result in him resigning and Harris being president?

In exploring options, it might be better to let Biden stay in office and continue to fumble so he can be defeated in 2024. The real problem with this approach is that Biden would think like the criminals in San Francisco and New York – he can steal all he wants without being arrested. Also, without fear of punishment, he can pardon Hunter and friends and all the DOJ, FBI, and CIA officials who assisted in past coverups and election deceit. Since he has no shame, he will likely pardon himself. Worse still, he openly, as opposed to secretly, sells the country to the highest bidder, knowing punishment is unlikely.

Conversely, if Biden pardons himself and all of his friends, all those pardoned could be subpoenaed by Congress if it holds one House. The witnesses would have to tell the truth since they have been pardoned for all past sins and can no longer incriminate themselves. If they testify and lie, they are committing perjury, a crime subsequent to the pardon, for which they could be punished. If the next president or Congress is Republican, they would at able to discover the depth of corruption and the extent of Biden’s activities with foreign enemies.

Also, the disclosure of Biden’s crimes would be a fate worse than impeachment for such a pompous buffoon. Biden’s corruption would be laid bare to the world. History would give him the title – the most corrupt president in the history of the U.S. Warren G. Harding’s administration only sold oil leases. Biden may be selling the nation. In that instance, Harding and Nixon become footnotes as Biden takes center stage in the history books.

The most likely outcome of a successful House Oversight investigation is that Biden pulls a Nixon and resigns. Harris takes the oath of office and pulls a Ford by pardoning Joe, Hunter, and friends and all the FBI and CIA officials involved in the coverup of Joe’s activities. Harris becomes president and runs for reelection.

If Harris wins in 2024, she and the Democrats controlling DOJ, FBI, CIA, and State Department will have four years to purge history and rewrite their narrative. There will be no trace of any of the Biden administration’s illegal activities. Congress will try to subpoena Joe Biden to testify. His doctor will claim he is incapacitated and cannot testify about anything, even his own name. That may actually be true. The others will be protected by the DOJ and the FBI or move to a country that does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S.

The Bible tells us, “The truth will set [us] free.” That is not true in politics. In the case of the BFS, the truth will force the nation into a Hobson’s Choice. Do the Republicans pass on impeachment and let Biden stay in office so he can be defeated in 2024? Or, do the Republicans impeach Biden and risk his resignation, a Harris pardon, and four more years of corrupt government? Both options are bad. Part II will discuss how to get the truth that will set America free.
