Victor Davis Hanson on Tucker’s Putin Interview, Wars Being Waged, and the Left’s New Strategy

“The left had their grand vision. And it turned into a nightmare, and even they are starting to back away from it. They’ll never say that, but if you look at what they’re doing, they’re trying to go back to the middle. They’re trying to fix the military. They’re trying to pump more oil. They’re trying to get more police officers. This is exactly what we were told was the problem with the United States. And so, they had their chance, they had their great progressive experiment, and it blew up in their faces.”

In this episode, I speak with Victor Davis Hanson, a classicist, military historian, and the author of “The End of Everything: How Wars Descend Into Annihilation.”

“We’re getting this axis of Iran and Russia and China and their appendages: North Korea … India’s not as pro-Western as it used to be,” says Mr. Hanson. “And we’ve got Qatar, who’s helping Hamas, and we’ve got Turkey that’s just a rogue country now, vis-a-vis the West and NATO. So, we’re starting to unravel, and getting an alliance of roguery against us.”

We discuss the left’s current strategy heading into the 2024 presidential election, today’s international geopolitical landscape, and Tucker Carlson’s recent interview with Vladimir Putin.

“The wherewithal to allow Ukraine to win is not feasible in nuclear poker. It just isn’t—not when you’re dealing with Putin,” says Mr. Hanson.
