Epstein Files Trigger High-Profile Resignations: What to Know

5Mind. The Meme Platform

The U.S. Department of Justice published more than 3.5 million documents in late January in compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

High-profile resignations have started after the Department of Justice dropped 3 million documents relating to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the American financier who was found dead in August 2019 in a Manhattan jail cell as he faced sex trafficking counts.

Casey Wasserman, a talent executive and chairman of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics organizing committee, announced on Feb. 13 plans to sell his talent agency after his name appeared in the Epstein files.

Wasserman’s name was mentioned in 87 documents, including multiple messages to Epstein’s former girlfriend and associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Maxwell was a well-connected socialite who was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of helping lure teenage girls to be sexually abused by Epstein.

Clients of Wasserman’s sports, music, and culture talent agency include Emma Stone, Nikki Glaser, and comedian Nate Bargatze.

“Pink Pony Club” singer Chappell Roan announced she was leaving the agency after Wasserman appeared in emails with Maxwell.

Kathy Ruemmler announced on Feb. 12 that she would step down as chief legal officer and general counsel of Goldman Sachs at the end of June 2026.

Ruemmler, who previously served as former White House counsel to President Barack Obama, repeatedly tried to distance herself from the emails that appeared to show a close relationship with Epstein.

One email showed her referring to Epstein as “Uncle Jeffrey” just months before he was arrested in July 2019.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem was replaced as the chairman of DP World, one of the world’s largest logistics companies, after the Epstein files showed him having lewd exchanges with the financier.

One of the emails sent from Epstein to Sulayem in April 2016 read “no girl in dubai is safe tonite.”

Peter Mandelson was fired by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in September 2025 as the United Kingdom’s ambassador to the United States after his ties to the convicted sex offender were revealed to be closer than previously known.
