OSC Finds Secretary Marcia Fudge Violated the Hatch Act

5Mind. The Meme Platform

Today, the Office of Special Counsel (OSC), in a letter to Americans For Public Trust, concluded that HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge did in fact violate the Hatch Act. In their findings, OSC stated that: “Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Marcia Fudge violated the Hatch Act by showing support for the Democratic Party and its electoral prospects while responding to a question about the Ohio 2022 U.S. Senate election.” The Act prohibits federal employees from conducting political activities on official duty and on official government property.

This investigation is the result of a complaint filed by Americans For Public Trust, following a March 18th White House press briefing where Secretary Fudge made these remarks. In response to this finding, OSC issued Secretary Fudge a warning letter to refrain from similar political activities going forward; otherwise further action could be taken.

The OSC complaint can be read here.
