5Mind. The Meme Platform

America is broken. But there’s still time to fix it—if we have the courage to confront what’s really dividing us.

American Restraint: Taming Hyper-Individualism & Hyper-Capitalism is a bold and urgent call to action by political outsider Patrick Trepanier. With a clear-eyed diagnosis and a pragmatic roadmap, this book delivers what most political books won’t: structural solutions rooted in the Constitution and common sense.

What’s gone wrong?
  • The majority of Americans say the country is on the wrong track
  • Washington is too corrupt to fix itself
  • Decades of hyper-individualism and hyper-capitalism have eroded our national unity

Here’s how we fix it:
  • Use Article V of the Constitution to call a Convention of States
  • Pass amendments for Congressional term limits, a balanced budget, and federal power restraint
  • Let states innovate and experiment based on family, community, health, and service

Challenges both major parties and presents pragmatic solutions to rebuild trust, community, and middle-class prosperity.

Thought-provoking dive into 21st century issues that are plaguing America
This a very insightful summary of issues plaguing the United States of America in the 21st century. The author identifies twin issues of hyper-capitalism and hyper-individualism which are at the core of divisiveness in American society and the erosion of core values of community, family and religion upon which the American experiment were founded. His proposal of a second constitutional convention based on Article V of the constitution is provocative and timely. Has the constitution created nearly 250 years ago run its course and in need of replacement by means other than amendment? It’s an idea worth exploring. This was a thought-provoking and timely read. I can wholeheartedly recommend it. ~ Thomas L. Dearden

A disappointed America
Wow, the book says 80% of America believes it is on the wrong track. It is a capitalistic society. The upper wealthy class is getting to have a bigger divide between those working and those making less. A practical solution is reviewing the Constitution and following what it says. Returning more decision making to the states is believed to be a solution. More innovation is believed to be the solution. Interesting concepts discussed to help less the divide among the different classes in America. ~ Dave Steffensmeier

A compelling and insightful exploration of the forces shaping contemporary America
A must-read for anyone concerned about the future of American society. Trepanier’s insightful analysis and practical solutions make this book a valuable resource for understanding and addressing the critical issues of our time. Whether you’re a student of political science, a concerned citizen, or someone looking to deepen your understanding of contemporary social dynamics, this book offers a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. ~ CFKelley

About the Author

Patrick Trepanier is a political outsider with a powerful message: America is broken—and the status quo won’t fix it. Like 80% of Americans, he believes the country is on the wrong track, driven apart by unchecked hyper-individualism and hyper-capitalism.

A graduate of UCLA in political science and international business, Patrick spent over three decades working in high technology and manufacturing. His career, community service, and years of political philosophy research led him to a bold conclusion: only an Article V Convention of States can deliver the structural reforms America needs.

His book, American Restraint, lays out a clear, actionable plan to rebalance our republic through pragmatic federalism and a return to cultural values rooted in family, community, health, and service.
