Sadly, Minnesota has become a battleground, once again

5Mind. The Meme Platform

In response to the article by Minneapolis resident Gregg Duckett, I would like to offer my viewpoint. While I thank him for sharing his heartfelt views, I see the issue much differently.

Sadly, Minnesota has become a battleground, once again. Five years ago, protesters were fighting police officers in the name of George Floyd. Today, protests are directed against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, who are trying to follow the law.

Illegal immigrants living in the United States do not have the right to stay in our country indefinitely and enjoy the benefits of citizenship. Illegal immigrants are not following the law and participating in the long and burdensome process of applying for citizenship.

Immigrants who have followed the law to become citizens are welcomed; they did it the right way. Those who broke our laws must leave.

Illegal immigrants take resources, jobs, housing, and other benefits away from American citizens. It is neither fair nor beneficial to the United States for millions of illegal immigrants to remain in our country.

Illegal immigrants have killed or injured countless Americans in traffic accidents or by criminal actions. The people who broke our laws do not deserve our sympathy. Instead, Americans should prayerfully support the “Angel Moms” and “Angel Dads,” who have lost children due to the criminal actions of illegal immigrants.

In November 2024, Americans elected Donald Trump as President once again. A majority of voters endorsed the President’s strong platform, which included creating secure borders and deporting illegal immigrants.

ICE agents are following through on the will of the people of the United States. Minneapolis protesters are trying to overthrow a lawful election and negate the will of the American people.

While it is unfortunate that people died trying to confront ICE agents, it is true that if Minneapolis police officers had established a perimeter around these operations, these individuals would be alive today.

If the protesters act peacefully and do not interfere with ICE operations, there would be no trouble and no injuries or deaths.

ICE operated in New Orleans, my hometown, for weeks without any problems. Protesters did not try to interfere with ICE operations, and no one was hurt.

The real blame in Minnesota lies with the local politicians who encouraged protesters and forbade the Minneapolis police from cooperating with ICE.

Fortunately, the relationship between ICE and the police has improved, as has the situation in Minneapolis. It is a shame that it took so long for local cooperation to emerge.

Hopefully, this partnership will continue, and ICE agents will be allowed to do their important jobs and remove dangerous criminals from our communities.
