Andrew Wheeler on Biden Administration’s Disastrous Climate Policies

Ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference, or COP-26, AFPI’s Chairman of the Center for the Environment, Andrew Wheeler, provided the following statement:

“It’s fair to question the sincerity of the Biden Administration’s involvement with a summit where two of the world’s biggest pollution culprits are conspicuously absent. President Biden is expected to promise a drastic cut to U.S. emissions of 50 percent by 2030 and announce additional funding for the Green Climate slush fund, which already provides billions to ‘developing nations’ like China. If enacted, these policies will cripple the U.S. economy. China alone is responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than all of the developed world combined. This goes along with the Left’s plan to put America last by rewarding, and giving American taxpayer money to, our economic competitors while simultaneously crippling the U.S. economy.

“With energy prices rising to the point of crisis, and a Big Government Socialism Bill that would destroy the America we know, now is certainly not the time for Special Envoy John Kerry’s daydreaming at a climate summit. Instead, America’s leaders should focus on how to achieve American energy independence and building on the tremendous environmental progress which occurred during the Trump Administration. The priorities named by President Trump include: reducing lead in our drinking water, continuing to make progress on PFAS, and completing the superfund reforms. America’s air and water has never been cleaner, but we can do more to nurture American families and communities.”
