Article III Project statement on the confirmation of judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States

The Article III Project

WASHINGTON โ€” Mike Davis, the Founder and President of Article III Project (A3P), issued the following statement regarding the vote by the U.S. Senate to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.

โ€œSenators who voted to confirm a justice with a 25-year legal record of extreme, disqualifying empathy and leniency toward child sex predators must be held accountable by their constituents. Judge Jacksonโ€™s confirmation exposed the urgent need for conservatives in Congress to demand hearings and force votes on legislation to toughen mandatory minimums for child sex predators, including those who collect and trade images and videos of sexual torture of young kidsโ€“even babies. These are monsters who prop up the child trafficking and sexual abuse industry. Judge Jackson believes weโ€™re too harsh on them. Apparently, so do 53 U.S. senators who just voted to elevate her and her dangerously wrong theory to the highest court in the land for the rest of her life. Those who defend pedophiles and stand in the way of justice for kids who are victims of sexual abuse must be exposed,โ€ said Davis.

A3P led the charge opposing Judge Jacksonโ€™s nomination through its extensive research, upon which a lengthy New York Post article expanded over the weekend. This research demonstrated that during Judge Jacksonโ€™s eight years as U.S. district judge in Washington, D.C., she ruled well below the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and well below the national average of all federal judges in eight of eight cases where she had sentencing discretion involving those who possess and distribute child pornography. Through its first two tranches of research, A3P laid the groundwork for the child pornography objections that were raised by multiple U.S. Senators during the confirmation hearing. This included exposing Judge Jacksonโ€™s dangerous theory, contradicted by two experts before her as Vice Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission, that child pornographers are not dangerous pedophiles who require greater prison time.

A3P launched a series of ads running across eight key states to educate the constituents of senators who nonetheless decided to support Judge Jacksonโ€™s elevation to our highest court despite her dangerous, disqualifying legal record. A3P targeted ArizonaGeorgiaNew HampshireNevada, and Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Mitt Romney (R-Utah). Additionally, A3P published two sets of digital ads before and during the hearing. A3P ran an ad buy targeting Senators Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) in their respective home states for their hypocrisy on seeking diversity in the judiciary. Later, A3P targeted Schumer and Durbin in a separate ad buy, calling on the white male senators to step aside to allow their Democrat governors to replace them with Black women for the sake of equity.

The Article III Project (A3P) was founded by veteran GOP operative and attorney Mike Davis, who, after helping win the Senate confirmation battles of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, developed the reputation as a โ€œtake-no-prisoners conservative eager to challenge the left with hardball tactics,โ€ as reported in The New York Times. A3P defends constitutionalist judges, punches back on radical assaults on judicial independence (like court-packing) and opposes judicial and other nominees who are outside of the mainstream.

Davis previously served as Chief Counsel for Nominations to Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary and led the Senate confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and a record number of circuit court judges.
