Best Buy Marketplace represents the company’s largest-ever expansion.

National consumer electronics retailer Best Buy on Aug. 19 announced the launch of its new digital marketplace, BestBuy.com, which the company reports will more than double the current number of products available to online consumers.

In a company statement, the Minnesota-based retail giant said it will be adding entirely new brands, categories, and products for customers.

Powered by French tech company Mirakl’s technology, Best Buy Marketplace represents the company’s largest-ever expansion, adding products from hundreds of new brands in new categories, including seasonal décor, automotive tech, home, and office, as well as music and movies. In addition, Best Buy plans to introduce licensed sports merchandise to its product line.

“Our customers have always looked to us to bring excitement and inspiration in ways only technology can,” Frank Bedo, chief marketplace and eCommerce officer at Best Buy, said in the statement.

“With marketplace, we’re able to give them not only more of the latest technology, but a massive new collection of products outside of the tech space so we can truly offer the full experience they need.”

The company’s additional tech options include manufacturers such as Samsung, Microsoft, LG, Lenovo, and HP. Consumers will also have access to gaming products from Razer, MSI, and GT Player, such as gaming chairs, keyboards, monitors, and headsets.

Additional mobile accessory items include screen protectors, chargers, and other related products.

The new online marketplace will also offer a larger selection of smaller appliances featuring well-known brands such as Oster, Crock-Pot, Martha Stewart, Zulay Kitchen, and Cuckoo.

The retailer’s furniture options are expanding by three times its original offerings with the addition of  TV stands, office desks, sofas, coffee tables, barstools, and outdoor options like patio furniture, gazebos, and other items.

During Holiday seasons, Best Buy will be adding indoor and outdoor products such as Christmas trees, ornaments, inflatables, animatronics, and throw blankets.

“Best Buy is also introducing musical instruments to its lineup, featuring guitars, drums and more,” the statement says. “There’s also an even broader range of toys, including ride-ons, puzzles and board games, and twice as many Funko collectibles as before.”
