Britain has banned the Chinese communist party-linked technology company Huawei from its technology infrastructure following months of pressure from campaigners both inside and outside the United Kingdom.
Huawei, long seen as a threat to Western national security, was effectively blocked by both technology experts in Britainโs National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), as well as figures such as President Donald Trump, former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, Brexit leader Nigel Farage, and National Pulse editor Raheem Kassam.

Boris Johnson has ordered all Huawei technology to be stripped out of the UKโs 5G network by 2027.
In a major U-turn, the PM also banned the purchase of any new 5G equipment from the Chinese tech giant from the end of this year.
Acting on the advice of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Mr Johnson has accepted new US sanctions on Huawei are a โgame changerโ in relation to the impact of the firmโs technology on the UKโs national security.
Downing Street had previously allowed Huawei to have a role in the UKโs 5G infrastructure โ a decision that came little more than six months ago.
