Cornyn: Biden Should Visit Border to See Crisis Firsthand

WASHINGTON – Today on Fox News’ America Reports, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) discussed how President Biden’s immigration policies are exacerbating the crisis on the border.

“They simply are making things worse, and my hope is the President will come to the border.”

“All they want to do is to blame it on the Trump Administration, when in fact they’ve dismantled those policies and made them worse.”

“The Biden Administration seems to have no interest in enforcing the law and all the signals they are sending is, if you can make it to our borders, you’re going to be able to successfully migrate into the United States regardless of what the law says.”

“We know intermixed among these unaccompanied children are sex offenders, criminal aliens, people who’ve committed very serious crimes.”

“We’ve seen people in countries of special interest, for example, that make their way into the United States. We don’t know who they are, really where they come from, what their background is, and I think that’s a potentially dangerous situation.”

About Senator John Cornyn

Senator Cornyn was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2002, and is currently serving his third term after being re-elected in 2008 and 2014. He sits on the Senate Finance, Intelligence, and Judiciary Committees, where he helps craft legislation on behalf of 28 million Texans. From 2013 until 2018 Senator Cornyn was chosen by his colleagues to serve as the Republican Whip, the second-highest ranking position in the Senate Republican Conference. A San Antonio native, Senator Cornyn has served the people of Texas for the last three decades, as a district judge, a member of the Texas Supreme Court and Texas Attorney General, before representing the Lone Star State in the U.S. Senate.
