This author has been inspired, or driven is more like it, to spend most of 2022 researching, meditating, pondering, anguishing over why the war in Ukraine continues to rage on, with no peaceful end remotely in sight, and even less prospects of a negotiated armistice leading towards peace talks between the United States, NATO, Ukraine and Russia. This nondescript cancerous war only continues to threaten to turn, at some point, into a nasty nuclear confrontation of untold dimensions and dreaded consequences between Washington and Moscow, towards whatever end those consequences will lead the rest of us in the world.
At the outset of the war, this writer produced a five-part series, entitled, “Hatred, Greed, Hypocrisy, Corruption, Fascism Feeds the Madness” that laid out some of the outstanding historical geopolitical dynamics that preceded the outbreak of the actual war itself and, if not addressed, where these calamitous dynamics ultimately will lead the world. Its bibliography continues to provide critical background insights into the historic causes of the war in Ukraine.
Since the release of that seminal article, still several other related companion pieces have been produced that speak to the endless geo-political-fascist intrigues, propaganda, lies and deceit, committed by the U.S., their NATO allies, the Western World’s politicians and business interests, who, for decades, explored ways to attack the vulnerable underbelly of Russia and ultimately destroy its empire, methodically-planning each stage of what continues to unfold in the war.
The Universal “house Angel Versus Street Devil” Principle Of Human Life
In the realm of human relations, certain universal principals and laws of human values, vices, morality and codes of conduct can be equally applied to individual humans, as well as to leaders of countries and whole societies who can either thrive or succumb to them as they apply to the intra or inter-personal relationships within their own selves, spouses, children, neighbors, fellow citizenry, other nations and their geo-political relationships with one another, such as: between Russia, and Vladimir Putin; the U.S. and Joe Biden, and; Ukraine and Volodymr Zelenskyy.
These relationships can be characterized by whatever standards of behavior one deems apropos to what it more simply means to be: a House Angel & Street Devil or, conversely, a House Devil & Street Angel. In the realm of everyday life, and in the greater realm of the wider world, these same descriptive terms can be applied to however a given culture, society, nation or leader is perceived from the inside as compared to how each conducts itself within the outside world.
To better understand what the bottom line is behind these underlying stages that have led to the on-going bombing, killing and general mayhem that not only has continued over the past nine months in Ukraine, but what has transpired, literally for decades, centuries even millenniums, in that part of the world. Without considering any one of these factors, what has long been omitted from the corporate mainstream daily news, only continues to lead Humanity’s unaware masses ever further down the garden path of the current conflict in Ukraine; a path that, pathetically, continues to be ever-more controlled and dictated to by still more ruthless, murderous Mafioso-type-thug politicians, power-hungry narcissists and ruthless corporate mainstream media propagandists.
Like so many other wars in the modern historical era before this current one (WWI & II, Vietnam, etcetera), at their core, the same political, corporate, financial-megalomaniacal-types who always micro-manage them, no matter what the given is to their malevolent ‘game’, never, fundamentally, is ever about democracy, freedom. human dignity or human rights, but about shady deals made between vicious, ruthless big business moguls and dark figures involved in the manufacturing of military arms of mass destruction (WMD) and their unquenchable greed and desire that, somehow, always is centered around the acquisition of ever more oil, coal, LNG and other rare natural, non-renewable resources, so highly coveted by the rich and powerful at the conscious cost of the total decimation of all living things on the planet.
The brutality that follows afterwards with the consequent indiscriminate slaughter of millions of innocent human beings that occurs is purely incidental and of little ultimate consequence to these types in the world. The major players in the war in Ukraine no different than the major players in every other war of the past, present or whatever will happen in the future, who didn’t ever give a fig in past wars about how many Jews, Slavs, Aryans, Palestinians and Arabs were previously slaughtered, or won’t care a hoot more about how many Ukrainians, Russians and others will end up likewise becoming slaughtered, meaningless statistics in what is yet to come.
This writer’s efforts over the past year, since humanity’s latest brutal eruptions manifested in Ukraine, have been undertaken as much for the clarity and integrity of his own self and life as it has been to make whatever small effort he could to at least try, as futile or useless as that effort may be or is, to perhaps make the public more aware about the ultimate causes of not only the current war in Ukraine, or who actually was and is responsible for starting it, or continues it, with malicious intent, pursuing it to its brutal, grizzly end, rather than emphasize the more important issues of peace talks and meaningful negotiations that might prevent the kind of escalation that finally turns into some kind of Armageddon.
But, if a nuclear Armageddon is somewhere on the cards, no matter what anyone says or does, then this one’s writing over the past year has at least become as much a gesture of protest in honor to the beauty of life and creation rather than a collaboration with the forces of death. More a final reflection and epitaph for posterity on humanity’s insanity, its madness of war, and willingness to squander the preciousness of humankind and life itself, wastefully pursued for so very long through so many meaningless acts of warfare since the beginning of Homosapien’s brief existence on this earth.
So, the writing has been rigorously, doggedly pursued with an unquenchable passion, as much for the integrity of this writer’s own self as much as anyone else’s, and at least reflect upon his own, by now, eighty, and counting, years of life, and what his heritage, so far, has meant to be a native-born American and naturalized-Canadian who, somehow, directly or indirectly, in one way or the another, has found himself, against his will, enmeshed within both his two country’s endless involvements in one kind of war or another against whomever: First Nation Indians, Mexicans, Black Slaves; English, Canadians, Spanish, Cubans, Filipinos, Germans, Italians and now the Russians, to name but a few.
This writing endeavor beganon February 24th, the day Russia invaded Ukraine’s eastern border and the U.S. and NATO declared they would do everything in their power to help Ukraine repel the Russians. The ominous sounds of World War the CBC broadcaster’s words made in that alarming moment of crisis, as they emanated from the radio’s speaker, sounded like claps of thunder to this one’s ears. It was as if he was suddenly hearing about someone or something so very near and dear to himself for which a death knell was beginning to sound again.
A Cosmic Truth Is Revealed
With those thunderous sounds came an instantaneous inkling – a premonition – a knowingness – of some dark, seminal, ‘End of the World’ moment within the human experience, that continued to explode within his mind, like tiny tintinnabulations, as he heard the CBC radio newscaster repeat over and again that death knell: “Russia has just invaded Ukraine”. Its sound as if a collective voice, echoing down through he ages from out of the mouths of the entire human race.
The ominous reality those words and sounds conveyed to this one produced the unnerving feeling as if he suddenly had become an embarrassed member of a primitive race of inferior being’s on the glorious orb that our Planet Earth is, who possessed within themselves, as sentient beings, both the ability to conceive of the grandest, loftiest, most majestic and celestial poetry and art of the universe, and yet simultaneously also shamefully possess within their core essence the corrupt seeds of an unfathomable madness to which, at any given moment in time, is also capable of creating, with full malice and forethought, multitudes of heinous Nuclear or Biological weaponry, with the express intent of genocidally using them against whatever untold innocent, unsuspecting victims. It was the same puzzling, perplexing thoughts that have bedeviled the world every since the Nazi Germans appeared upon the scene and in one minute could listen to the glorious music of Wagner and in the next minute exterminate a whole race of humans.
In that instance, there grew within this one a sense of dreaded dead certainty that human beings could and would, perhaps, ultimately, lead to some kind of final Armageddon, if not in Ukraine than somewhere else in the world, with no problem whatsoever of perhaps consciously obliterating every last human and non-human species of life on Planet Earth.
In that moment of panicked clarity, as this writer continued to listen to the voice over the radio contradictorily speak about Russia’s evilness and the innocence of the United States and its NATO ally’s resolute intention to totally arm Ukraine to the bitter end, he knew that whatever that promise would mean it would only come to no good, while only producing yet more lies and, frankly, just more human ca-ca. The ultimate spectre of what was being suggested, symbolized how easily and quickly could become the final twist in the human species always flawed, ultimately fatal, evolutionary journey through time and space.
The Aftermath Of Almost A Year Of Lies, Deceit & Subterfuge
It has been almost a year now since so much human brutality has continued unabated on all sides, while the combatants in their trenches, and all their cowardly mentors and goaders sitting comfortably in their air-conditioned Pentagon, NATO, Russian, Ukrainian war rooms, continue to plot the final course and dismal scene this pending war will take. All the while the dire situation on the battlefield progresses as much as it deteriorates, while the world’s stock exchanges, Crypto Currencies, Food and Energy Markets, infrastructure of all kinds everywhere that humans depend upon for their day-to-day struggle just to survive, continues to worsen or totally fail.
But what still remains so vivid in this writer’s conscious mind is the same abiding sense that that iconic moment of almost a year ago was and is something that somehow has been genetically programmed within how each and everyone one of us human’s already is destined to be, since the beginning of our Homosapien specie’s emergence on earth, and what eventually will yet happen, if not in Ukraine than somewhere else on earth or from the heavens above.
That in Homosapien’s evolutionary reality, given its still primitive, stage of development, whatever that means, a process, that began long before this current war, has now been sped up in these modern times, and kicked into hyperdrive, with the already failed cause of the Afghanistan War, before this one, and then the failed Iraq War before that, and then the Vietnam War before that, and then the Second World before that, and then the failed cause of the First World War before that, and what, in truth, ad infinitum, has always been the failed cause of every such ‘world war’, wherever and whenever it first began in space and time, starting with those first two human beings, those two male human beings, those two brothers, who found themselves locked in mortal combat in the Garden of Eden. It’s why that initial moment was chosen, as a key seminal Biblical teaching lesson by those cosmic elders, in that long-ago, distant time and place, sought to fix within the minds of all we humans who would come after, who would be prepared to truly listen to a fundamental truth, germane to what it means to be human.
All Those Who Are Truly Awake Know What This Current War Means
Creative artists of all persuasions and dimensions, ever since, have always had similar premonitions, or possessed within themselves a sixth sense, of whatever it means to be human, male or female, in all its infinite complexities and contradictions.
The flash of this destined (pre-ordained?) reality brought with it to this one a panicky conscious awareness that the opening salvos of this now new, highly-possible ‘world war’, in our high-tech age, could end looking like the closing scenes of either one of two different, yet related, science-fiction-themed, award-winning movie’s that had been created and released in the late 1960’s.
How the culminating cinematic scenes of these two sci-fi movies rushed into this one’s conscious mind, as if they were simultaneously playing on a split screen in his mind’s eye, each demanding his total, undivided, conscious awareness, is worthy of being retold here.
Planet of the Apes is a Metaphor for the 21st Century
Rushing into view on one side of the movie’s split-screen in this writer’s brain was the movie Planet of the Apes (La Plante des Singes), based on a novel by the same title, by French novelist Pierre Boulle, who had been a secret agent with the Free French in Singapore in WWII. Boulle eventually was captured by the Japanese and then subjected to horrendous torture and forced hard labor for two years until the end of the war. He was one who knew, too, of the possibility of the same ending to the world, because he had gone there, done that and then, luckily, come back to tell the tale.
Directed by Franklin Schaffner, the movie starred Charlton Heston (George Taylor), the captain of an astronaut crew, in the year 3978, whose space ship had ostensibly crash-landed on a distant alien planet, where intelligent-talking apes now were the dominant species in charge of that world, and yet who possessed all the same brutish characteristics of human beings. Whereas, the now devolved human beings, by then, had become the oppressed, enslaved beasts of their ape masters and had long since lost the ability or capacity to even use verbal language to speak.
The movie’s startling conclusion comes after George Taylor survives the nightmarish travails of his ape-captors. Satisfied he has finally escaped his imprisonment by them, he momentarily stops to rest along a stretch of open ocean beach; only to suddenly discover, much to his horror, that he has happened directly upon the remnants of a half-destroyed ballistic missile, along with the shambled remains of America’s Statute of Liberty, tipped askew and half-buried in the sand.
The movie ends with Taylor realizing that, though the year to him may be 3978, the reality is that the tragic remains of what happened somewhere back in the distant past is still in evidence but life and the world, in reality, is so markedly different than it once ever was.
Once the shock and horror dawns on Taylor that he hasn’t actually ever left Earth at all, he falls to his knees in agony and pounds the beach in utter anguish, pejoratively screaming at the top of his lungs to the human race, “I’m Here! All the Time! You finally did it! You Finally did it! You Murderer’s! God damn you! God damn you all to Hell!” Cut! The End!

Dr. Strangelove; Or How I Stopped Worrying & Love The Bomb
This time, what next flashed on the other side of this one’s split-screened mind’s-eye came another scene from yet a different, award-winning sci-fi movie, with another end-of-the-world theme, but with a comedic and bit happier ending. What rushed into view was a scene from “Dr. Strangelove; Or How I Stopped Worrying & Love the Bomb” (1964).
Commonly characterized as Director Stanley Kubrick’s “ultimate cinematic masterpiece”, called by some the “Greatest Political Satire ever made”, its comic, yet deadly-serious ending, still is said to be as “perfect an ending as any movie ending in film history could ever be.”
Peter Sellers was originally meant to play four totally different, challenging roles in the deadly-serious comedy, as: British Group Captain (Captain Lionel Mandrake); the mad German Nazi scientist Dr. Strangelove, and; the U.S. President (“Merkin Muffley”), who is in the process of attempting to cancel a B52 bomber that has been sent on an end-of-the-world bombing mission by a military madman who has gone berserk and is intent upon destroying Moscow. In which case, if the bomber reaches Russia and drops the bomb, the Russians will reciprocate, destroy Washington and Armageddon for the entire planet will then be on.
The U.S. President has to calmly call the Russian Premiere on his emergency ‘Red Phone’ to report “Dimitri, we have a little problem”. Though Sellers was also originally meant to play the Air Force B-52 Bomber pilot (Major T.J. “King” Kong), Sellers feared he couldn’t properly master the authentic Texan accent of the American bomber pilot, so a brilliant, genuine, real-life cowboy actor (Slim Pickens) was awarded the role. Filling out the brilliant cast of this epic plot, were two U.S. Pentagon war room advisors (George C. Scott, and Keenan Wynn), and; the psycho U.S. General Jack D. Ripper (Sterling Hayden), who has a compunction to constantly fondle a phallic cigar in his mouth, while rambling on about “the precious purity and essence of our human body’s natural fluids”. Obsessed by the need to destroy Russia, he barricades himself in a ballistic missile site so he can control the launching of still further nuclear-bomb tipped missiles against the ‘Ruskies’.
The culminating scene that suddenly flashes next on this one’s split-screened mind, has U.S. President Merkin Muffley endeavouring to calm down the panicky Russian leadership from firing off their own ballistic missiles, while British Group Captain Lionel Mandrake, in a madcap, satirical scene, desperately attempts to defuse the totally-insane U.S. General Jack D. Ripper from setting off WWIII and Nuclear Armageddon.
Meanwhile the movie’s soundtrack continually plays the famous British songstress, Vera Lynn’s, iconic WWII song, “We’ll Meet Again, Don’t Why, Don’t Know When, But I Know We’ll Meet Again Some Sunny Day”, until the army breaks into the missile control room where Jack D. Ripper is holed up, eliminates him and the nuclear threat, too. The world is safe! Cut! End of story.

With those vivid flashes still flooding his thoughts, so strong was this writer’s impulsive, involuntary reaction to the harsh shock of the reality both films posed, that he at once jumped onto his computer and begin feverishly writing as fast as his fingers and brain would allow him to try to document what all he’d just experienced.
Yet so furious was his heart rate rapidly-beating, and his blood pressure dangerously-rising, by the hot flashes that were causing his face to flush, and beads of sweat running down his face, that he at once felt compelled to jump into his White VW Golf and drive as fast as he could to the nearest chemist to refill his preventative heart and stroke medicine prescription, and then try to calmly return, settle himself back down on his computer, and continue writing as fast as his brain would allow him to document what all he had just experienced.
But, upon arriving at the Chemist, he leapt out of his VW, with such intensity and careless abandon, that he immediately tripped and went flying through the air, ass over tea kettle, until he ended up making a very ugly and rough three-point crash landing onto a jagged patch of gravelled concrete and twisted tree root that immediately inflicted serious trauma to multiple places on his body (head, neck, shoulders, knees, hamstring muscles); while further ripping a nasty gash on one hand that would require stitches and extensive rehabilitative therapy, pain-killers and the like for quite some time before he could hope to fully recover. The total effect was as if he’d all of a sudden flown out of a vehicle moving at 40 mph.
(Note: As he continued flying through mid-air in that moment something told him the effort to document all what was happening with the war in Ukraine wouldn’t be an easy or short task to undertake in the face of so many fascist “I Stand With Ukraine” collaborators ready to pounce.)
Equally as shocking and trying since that actual moment itself, was the length of time and arduousness of the effort it would take this writer in the year ahead to finally conclude this 6,000-word piece, and then its 1,200-word, five-part, companion-series (“Hatred, Greed, Hypocrisy, Fascism in the War in Ukraine”), that would struggle to portray some of the personal and general angst the war has since loosed upon the world and within his own self, as if some muse, genie or evil demon had just been released from out of a mysterious bottle.
The Extensiveness Of The Gate-keepers Control Of The World Media
Then came the extreme frustration this one experienced while trying to see these words reach publication somewhere in the face of what he soon discovered had become, almost over-night, an ideological stone wall of silence and indifference in the vicious, all but total, propaganda war of the Western corporate mainstream press, as solid as any ‘Maginot’ battle-line could ever be built, but what now had become all that much more unbreachable and impregnable to whatever controversial anti-war, pro-Russian, pro-peace, pro-armistice, ceasefire-negotiation sentiments he might ever dare to use to challenge the totally bogus so-called facts about the war that now the entire Western civilization was being brainwashed with as unchallengeable dictum.
Especially when whatever alternative ‘truths’ that were being posed dared to threaten the ideological allegiances and biases commonly held by the Americans and their NATO allies; whether towards: the war in Ukraine; the Russians themselves, or; indeed, the entire world of geo-political Ideas in general, whether communist or not, that dared to contradict or contravene an ever-growing proto-fascist American ‘line-of-thought’ that, with the help of the high-tech print industry, continues to sweep throughout the world.
Suddenly he was faced, was the reality that the power of the ‘’Official’ Gate Keepers of what was ‘truth’ and ‘reality’ had become so severe, so doctrinaire, so restrictive regarding the ever-growing fascist polemics on the world’s geo-political scene, that they had ‘padlocked the gate’ around innumerable issues, and the very conduct of how every nation and its citizenry should think or be allowed to “Live and Let Live” in this now war-torn world.
Such is the sophistication and rigidity of the modern world’s propaganda that now, seemingly, is afoot and entrenched at every government, cultural and societal level of life in the world, exacerbated and reinforced by social media platforms everywhere. Since the advent of the war in Ukraine has come an extreme wake-up call for all concerned that “Reality no longer is what it once was ever made out to be before February 24th, 2022.”
That is unless the still feeble “dissenting” collective voices that began to speak out in the direction of real ‘truth’ in America’s 2022’s U.S. Mid-Term Election, will also begin to speak out about the equally questionable conduct of the War in Ukraine that also will generate a real movement in the same direction of truth.
Sabotage Of Nord Stream 1 & 2 A Case Of Political Fallagio
For start’s, it’s time to probe deeper below the surface at the real ugly hose job, if ever there was one, that Americans and the world recently received in the derriere over the endless stream of falsities that underlie America’s long-standing culpable, malevolent military and corporate big business involvement in the complicated, Machiavellian politics of Ukraine’s modern political history and the war itself.
More specifically, it behooves the world to know more, even a modicum more, about the long-standing role America’s CIA and its black ops divisions have long since played in Ukraine’s political turmoil, with the hands-on involvement of every succeeding U.S. President and their administrations, since the 1990’s and even long before, going back to at least the administrations of George Herbert & George W. Bush, and forward to Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Joe Biden. In Ukraine, as well as everywhere else in the world of rough-and-tumble geo-politics. American politicians have a lot of bloody fingerprints smeared all over the evidence of who among them did what to who that has led up to the inception of the war in Ukraine and continues unabated.
The still muddied, unanswered question is how much of the primary cause of the war is due to Russia’s actual real desire to protect both the welfare of the Ukrainian-speaking people of Western Ukraine, and Russian-speaking people of Eastern Ukraine? Or, as is more the case, trying to do something about the long-standing corporate-financial entanglements and power struggles that have existed between Russia and the West in the world’s corporate energy sector, especially in the 1990’s and early 2000’s, between America’s big energy players who ever strive to greedily-corner for themselves the world’s natural energy resources (water, coal, oil, etcetera) market, and now, in the midst of the war in Ukraine, to take advantage of the coming harsh Northern winter, seize totally control of the world’s LNG energy market and sell it back to Germany and Europe at four times the price at which Russia was originally prepared to sell it before its Nord Stream Pipelines 1 & 2 were sabotaged.
This single, ignorant act of the war may end up being one of the war’s most monumentally-stupid errors that may very well destroy the economies of Western and Eastern Europe and lead to colossal political dissension, and possibly even another civil war or major war in and of itself.
It’s A Whodunnit Case Of Sloppy ‘fallagio’ Logic
Regarding the whodunnit’s of so many of the sordid unsolved whodunnit’s of the war so far, the outrageous sabotage of the Nord Stream Pipelines, requires a bit of portmanteau word play concerning the term fallacio (fallacy + fallatio = fallacio), as it often is used to describe sloppy logic, especially the political ‘’fallagio’ logic that continues to raise its ugly head among all those who seemingly possess an “unquenchable thirst for fallacio that keeps them listening to mainstream corporate news”, about anything to do with the war, when they already know, on whatever conscious or unconscious level, especially concerning the ‘whodunnit’ arguments made in the West’s corporate press about the sabotage of the ‘Nord Stream Pipelines’, are nothing more than bogus suppositions, based upon fallacious arguments, that, to put it bluntly, even fool’s know suck when it comes to knowing who the real criminals are who committed this heinous sabotage. Subterfuge and Denial are everywhere in the war climate that now has totally seized the world.
Whoever’s bloody hands and fingerprints remain smeared all over this clandestine act of sabotage, whatever insipid investigation so far is being pursued by the United Nations, outrageously, has excluded Russia, the owner of the actual Nord Stream pipelines, from even participating in the investigations themselves.
Of course, in any other international investigation of similar circumstances, an enormous brouhaha would have already been made, by now, and, at the very least, already resulted in the United Nation’s immediate stinging censure, if not military action, against whatever countries were responsible, and are still involved in such outlandish, unprecedented-aggressive acts of corporate terrorism that, in other circumstances would have immediately sparked a war in and of itself. But, of course, that is, if the already-underway war in Ukraine hadn’t already been cleverly and deviously used as cover to hide all traces of the bloody fingerprints of those high-level Western corporate-military-political criminals who were involved.
The sabotage of Nord Stream’s 1 & 2 Pipelines, that essentially all but eliminated, at present, Russia as the chief fossil fuel supplier to Germany and Europe, unquestionably, had to be planned by big corporate, military, political interests at the highest levels in the West, clearly, well in advance of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The question is what came first, the Chicken or the Egg! Was it the West’s constant goading aggravations and provocations of Russia and its Empire, or was it Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that set off the whole war? What about the West’s bombing of Russia’s land bridge to the Crimea? Is that not yet another unacceptable war provocation against Russia by the West? Both aggressive acts tantamount to ‘Acts of War’ that have long tails proceeding the war in Ukraine that stretch all the way back to the U.S.-led Maidan coup in 2014 and even before that to at least 2004. But who is really listening? The lights are on but is anyone minding the store?
Still other existing bloody fingerprints of unparalleled aggression by the West, NATO and the US-against Russia are all over the Baltic Naval Strike Force (BaltOps 22), that was led by the USS Kearsarge, an amphibious, special ops vessel, that led this strike force’s enormous flotilla of ships, personnel and logistics, and the enormous amount of pre-planning that would have been required to occur long before Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
At the time of the sabotage of Russia’s Nord Stream 1 & 2 pipelines, the USS Kearsarge was part of a U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa so-called ‘exercise’, executed by Naval Striking Forces Europe, and Naval Striking and Support NATO, that included 14 NATO Allies, two NATO partner nations, more than 75 aircraft, 7000 personnel, in June 2022 that included anti-submarine, mine-clearing operations, explosive ordinance disposal, and unmanned underwater personnel recovery training exercises aboard a submarine. Clearly, no small undertaking that would have demanded enormous planning!
Yet the world, all but deaf, dumb, blind, and all but brain-dead, has been led to believe that this Naval Task Force at the time of the sabotage of the Nord Stream I & 2 Pipelines ‘just happened’ to be directly over the area when the pipelines sabotage is known to have created enormous upwellings of methane gas (Sea Power magazine.org).
If the U.S., NATO and BaltOps22 had nothing to do with the sabotage of Nord Stream, why then did “Rodek” Sikorski, a member of the European Parliament, a key figure in the U.S.-backed 2014 coup of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, following the sabotage operation, post on Twitter a photo of the methane-blasted region of the Baltic Sea showing a furiously-churned upwelling of bubbling methane gas at that location, with the cryptic three-word caption, “THANK YOU, USA”.
Or if this was an innocent note that referred to something entirely different, why was it then that that Twitter note also was quickly removed after Poland’s Foreign Minister seconded Sikorski’s affirmation; or what the U.S. Ambassador to the EU, Gordon Sondland, already knowingly meant when he warned, well in advance, “We have not deployed the full set of tools that could significantly undermine, if not outright stop, the Nord Stream Project” (Reuters, Nov 13, 2018).
Then again, there was that incident, back in 2018, when Richard Grenwell, the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, repeatedly sent threatening letters to German companies working on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, warning them, “Companies involved in Russian energy exports are something that could prompt significant risks (Bold am Sontag, Jan. 13th, 2019)
Or again, what did U.S. President Biden imply, during a February 2022 state visit to Germany, before Russia had even invaded Ukraine, when, during a White House press conference, Biden threatened. “The United States is able to shut down Nord Stream 2 in the Baltic Sea if Russia invades Ukraine.”
Yet, when a reporter at that White House press conference repeatedly pressed Biden, “But how would you do that?” President Biden would only smugly smile and repeat what certainly sounded like a thinly-veiled threat of a pre-ordained given, when he replied several more times, “I promise you we will be able to do that.”
Something, clearly “Is Rotten in Denmark!”, as Shakespeare would say if he were here. But does anyone really care?
And So It Goes…….
War, like big business deals, always involves dirty, ruthless, clandestine, hardball dealings, especially when it comes to natural resources. When the U.S. was involved in unilaterally attacking Iraq in that long-gone war, when critics were asked what the cause of the war really was, the mocking answer that repeatedly shot back was, “IT’S THE OIL, STUPID!”
This time around, though, in Ukraine the conqueror’s prize isn’t oil, it’s yet another highly sought-after non-renewable resource of the earth, that once again begs the mocking retort, “IT’S THE LNG, STUPID!” But who will the big prize winner be this time around, the U.S. again or Russia?
Every war has the same tired, pathetic answer. Whatever the answer it always ends up with the slaughter of millions more innocents, humans as well as non-humans. On both sides of the trenches, soldiers mindlessly, without knowing really why, dutifully follow orders and kill those on the other side, while the old men of their kind sit comfortably back in the ‘safe areas’, once again counting their profit and gain statistics.
But the propaganda forever continues to twist all the facts and statistics to smother the real truths to suit their own accounts of what has happened and will happened, all the while covering up what was or were the smoking guns that caused the outbreak of whatever warfare
Sadly, the masses are always like lemmings and willing passive collaborators who can so easily be led by the gate keepers who control their minds. These masters of the darkness can sway public sentiments any way they want, to the point that all their charges, young and old alike, will be willing to dutifully march off again to whatever new war and mindlessly kill whomever. It’s the way of every world war or civil war that ever has been or ever will be.
So, without a working knowledge and basic awareness of what is real and what is not in the war in Ukraine one can’t even begin to hope to understand anything that first led to all the madness that already has unfolded and will only continue to unfold.
Without even a few grains of real, honest truth to hang onto, they can only end up being endlessly pushed from pillar to post, like flotsam and jetsam, as they blithely continue to listen to whatever the latest screed is force-fed them with yet more falsities about who did what to whom.
Reflections On War In Ukraine’s Unresolved Hatred And Lies
After nine months of war in Ukraine, it’s eerie how the war, between the same combatants as their predecessors during WWII, continues to impact upon the world in a multitude of economic, financial, political, military, cultural, spiritual ways. AND YET, has all but dropped off the front pages of the national and international news scene.
This should serve as a scary wake-up call to ponder how easily and quickly it always is to control the world’s masses to believe, hate, love, think or don’t think, about anything, and what that means in the short and long-term about the survival of truth or anything that really matters, not to mention the ultimate survival of the human race itself.
As the world pauses to reflect upon the one-year anniversary of this war, one must now either believe the war is naturally toning down, or being artificially toned down, until it finally, hopefully, dies a quiet death, and the world can go back to life as normal.
Or, on the flip side, that the Russian Bear is instead steadily, quietly, building up its war materials, while massing hundreds of thousand of fresh troops until the arrival of the same harsh, brutal winter conditions that best suited Russia’s age-old war tactics when it finally destroyed the hated Nazi German menace on the Eastern Front during WWII. If the latter proves to be more the case, when the Russian Bear once again springs into action against their hated Nazi offspring nemesis in Western Ukraine, then all hell will break loose to whatever dreaded, perhaps nuclear, end.
But imagine, for a moment, how the current front-page silence in the world press about all this long-standing, unresolved hatred still continues to drive the hostilities between West and East today as it once did during WWII.
By 1939, the world already was well-aware of the historical “hatred” that had long-fueled all the hatred in that part of the world between the Germanic-Slavic peoples of Eastern Europe. Yet this same unbated hatred and unresolved hostilities are what still feeds the war between the West and East today in Ukraine.
The American Capitalists still hate the Russian Communists for essentially single-handedly defeating the Nazi’s on the Eastern Front, at the cost of some 27 million of their own soldiers and citizenry’s lives. Otherwise, if they hadn’t, the Nazi very likely would have gone on to defeat the Allies, won the war and the world today would then be a very different place than it is now. While the Russian Communists still hate the American Capitalists for being so ungrateful, ever since WWII, for the way the Americans and the West have consistently thrown the precious gift of survival they gave to the West in the Russian’s face; seeking at every turn to destroy the communist political-economic system, while constantly searching for ways to overthrow, depose or diminish Russia and China’s leadership and their influence among the world’s other nations. Then there is the long-standing hatred felt by the Ukrainian people towards the Russians for Stalin’s infamous genocidal murders throughout the 1930’s and 1940’s of 6-7 million of their people, that some historians say, all toll, is more like 20-60 million due to Stalin’s: forced famine; massacres, forced labor and gulag imprisonment system.
The thing about “Hatred”, as one of the dominant traits of human beings, along with Greed, Hypocrisy, Corruption and Fascism, is the reality that all these seminal emotions, never go away and only forever fester in the human heart and soul unless they are properly exorcised.
Perhaps that’s why the Western corporate media’s constant manipulations of these emotions, and what it deems ‘truths’ or ‘lies’ in this on-going war, is such a scary premise to ponder. Especially when, somehow, if the human race can ever hope to evolve into something more advanced than it so far has, all the unresolved pain and angst that still exists in the human spirit, finally must be peacefully purged in non-violent ways other than by War or Nuclear Armageddon.
As a closing thought, the Polish-made film “Hatred”, created in 1939 when all that rage and hatred was still so raw, speaks more succinctly and poignantly than can this writer, who considers himself just another “Joe Schmo from Idaho!” when it comes to suggesting what, ultimately, must be done to resolve humanity’s utter, on-going, mess on Planet Earth.
