Pallywood Exposed

5Mind. The Meme Platform

Welcome to Pallywood! Pallywood is staged news filmed in real time against a realistic back drop that we are all familiar with. Pallywood has sets with directors, makeup men, extra’s, actors, props and lots of cameramen.

News services using unsubstantiated video footage, often staged footage, is a serious issue. This unsubstantiated video footage above comes from “Pallywood” and it is staged news.

What happens when the cameras turn up at the scene of an airstrike in Gaza and there simply aren’t enough Palestinian dead and injured to produce dramatic footage that can be used against Israel in the international media? We’ve seen it before. Palestinians who appear to be injured or even dead for the benefit of the TV cameras turn out to be nothing of the sort once they are no longer the focus.

This is all the more so in Gaza, where Palestinian stringers are often filming in the absence of international news crews.

The top video below is the entire BBC interview on the targeted killing of Hamas military commander Ahmed Jabari. During the interview, footage from Gaza is shown. At 2:11 mins in, a Palestinian in a beige jacket and black T-shirt, presumably injured in the aftermath of an Israeli airstrike, is picked up and taken away. Yet at 2:44 mins, the same Palestinian has staged a remarkable recovery. The second video below shows just the footage of the Faking Victim.

Jonathan Sacerdoti on BBC News discussing the killing of Ahmed Jabri, head of Hamas’ military wing in the Gaza Strip.

CNN using the same false footage:

CNN’s 360 with Anderson Cooper, video footage was broadcast that purported to show injuries and victims of Israeli military operations in Gaza. The only problem is the injuries were fake, and CNN knew it.

Israeli Civilians Under Fire; Hamas Fakes Causalities on Twitter

Syria Casualty Not Gaza

Hamas’s @Alqassambrigade account passed off civilian casualties caused by its former Syrian sponsors as Israeli atrocities, and spent the day falsifying its military activities, claiming that Hamas was shelling military targets, when in fact most of the rockets from the Gaza Strip were aimed at Israel’s civilian population.

The IDF distributed photographs of civilian casualties in Israel due to Hamas rockets, but they did not Twitter the photos. The photograph below is one of them and it shows why Israel is at war.

Israeli Casualty From Hamas Rockets

Update: Further confirmation: the photograph appeared on October 16, 2012 on the UKGuardian website in a montage of images from the Syrian conflict. The image was taken at the Dar al Shifa Hospital in Aleppo, Syria.
