“See you in court”

5Mind. The Meme Platform

For Americans there a handful of unfailingly provocative phrases, sure to lead to contention and controversy. Phrases such as “If I told you, you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me.” “Yes, those pants make your butt look big.” and “Taylor Swift stinks!”

Amongst fight-inducing phrases, the granddaddy of them all is, “I’ll see you in court.”

It appears Maine’s Democrat Governor, Janet Mills, wasn’t aware of the phrase’s effect on President Donald J. Trump.

Mills’ ill-considered retort to the President came as she attended a Governor’s reception at the White House. When Trump asked if her state was going to obey the administration’s executive order banning men from participating in women’s sports, Mills dumbly stated that Maine “will comply with state and federal law.”

Trump reminded Mills of his recent, widely publicized, EO on the subject adding that if Maine didn’t conform to the order, he would withhold federal funds from The Pine Tree State governor’s blunt counter was, “we’ll see you in court.”

Sadly, for Mills, Trump spends more time in court than an NBA franchise. No person in the entire country is less intimidated by the phrase than Trump. Threatening Trump with litigation is like trying to scare a dog with a steak.

Mills defense of men playing in women’s sports is out of step with American society. Recent polling on the subject, whether it be Gallup, NPR/Ipsos or NORC (National Opinion Research Center) at the University of Chicago, all show the American public solidly against transgender participation in women’s sports by majorities ranging from 63 to 69%.

When two-thirds of the country agrees on something, the dispute is over. Transgender athletes playing in girls’ sports is clearly less polarizing than Miller Lite’s “Great taste, less filling” debate.

Not for Janet Mills.

A day after the kerfuffle she posted the following on Maine’s Office of the Governor website; “If the President attempts to unilaterally deprive Maine school children of the benefit of Federal funding, my Administration and the Attorney General will take all appropriate and necessary legal action to restore that funding and the academic opportunity it provides. The State of Maine will not be intimidated by the President’s threats.”

What “academic opportunity” is Mills protecting?

Is it to have boys dominate girls in sports? To have boys parade around in their birthday suits in female locker rooms? Or does she insist on allowing boys pretending to be girls to stand atop podiums formerly reserved for actual girls?

The courts of consequence in this argument are where the games are played. Basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts are where the dreams of this country’s young women are being sacrificed. Fields of competition have been tilted in favor of a bizarre gender ideology that incomprehensibly prefers men masquerading as women to actual women.

Not if Donald Trump and most Americans have their way. Trump and his supporters will battle in every court in the land to restore sanity and safety to women’s sports.

Human sexuality has been dissected into a thousand imagined variations. This occurred without ever denying that the plumbing associated with male and female anatomy is distinct and certain. The surgeon’s scalpel may be able to craft facsimiles of male or female genitalia, but as they say that “does not make the man” or woman.

Another popular phrase is, “the ball is in your court.”

Let those words remain unchanged in meaning.

Let’s leave the orbs in that saying on the field of play where they belong, instead of in the underwear of boys who want to be girls on those very same fields of competition.

Otherwise, we’ll see you both on, and in the courts.
