The U.S. Republican Party held the 2012 Republican National Convention where delegates officially nominated former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin for president and vice president, respectively, as their candidates for the 2012 election. The convention theme was “A Better Future.” The convention was held during the week of August 27, 2012, in Tampa, Florida at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
