American Conservation Coalition: A New Environmental Conversation

American Conservation Coalition Logo

American Conservation Coalition is a youth-led organization shaping action on the environment

The American Conservation Coalition is committed to environmental solutions that work. Solutions start with conversation. ACC is having that conversation.

What is the American Conservation Coalition?

The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing young people around environmental action through common-sense, market-based, and limited-government ideals. ACC was founded in June 2017 by a group of Millennials who saw an ideological gap in the environmental movement preventing necessary bipartisan action.

The American Conservation Coalition believes economic and environmental success go hand-in-hand, and that everyone should feel empowered to take a seat at the table in discussions concerning conservation, clean energy, sportsmenโ€™s rights, agriculture, climate, and much more. ACC seeks to activate young people that are tired of partisan inaction on the grassroots, state, and federal levels — bringing forth prosperous action on environmental issues that impact us all.

American Conservation Coalition Mission

The American Conservation Coalition is changing the narrative on environmental discussions through promoting a mix of free-market, pro-business, and limited-government environmentalism in legislatures, college campuses, the political arena, and beyond.

American Conservation Coalition Principles:

CONSERVATION

Nature provides the resources we need to survive and enriches our lives with beauty. We should foster a culture of stewardship that ensures long-term environmental sustainability.

NATURAL HERITAGE

Americaโ€™s diverse natural landscapes are part of our shared heritage and national identity. We have a duty to protect this gift for future generations of Americans.

LOCALISM

Conservation starts locally. Local attachments inspire us to care for the environment and local knowledge is an integral part of successful environmental stewardship.

CAPITALISM

Economic prosperity and environmental sustainability go hand-in-hand. Strong property rights, competitive markets, and trade, coupled with a culture of environmental stewardship, produce the best environmental outcomes. Economic freedom creates prosperity and gives people the resources and tools they need to care for the environment.

INNOVATION

Humans find creative solutions to complex problems. itโ€™s in our nature. Innovation allows us to do more with less, which is key to a sustainable and prosperous future.

BALANCE

Individuals, businesses, and governments each have a role to play in caring for the environment. No single institution can address complex challenges alone. Environmental challenges must be met with balanced and cooperative responses.

Market Environmentalism Academy

The Conservation Coalition’s Market Environmentalism Academy is an educational platform that hosts courses on a variety of environmental topics, from a pro-market perspective. As the first-ever educational hub of its kind, the Academy will equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to fight for solutions that uplift our environment, economy, and people.
