The sudden resignation of Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) has had news journalists and political pundits pondering and speculating as to why this unusual and unexpected event occurred.
The first circulating story was that Greene had asked President Trump’s endorsement of her for Georgia Senator or Governor and the President declined. That story resulted in two different takes from those on the left and those on the right.
Those on the left spun a tale that Trump was mad at Greene for pushing for release of the “Epstein Files” because Trump, himself is noted in the list. Of course that is ridiculous as we have already pointed out, with evidence prior. Contrary to the liberal lies he is not in that fictitious list of pedophiles to visit Epstein’s Little Saint James Island. Those on the right speculated Trump was growing tired of Greene’s constant phone calls to the Oval Office distracting President Trump from all of his other tasks at hand as well as the fact Trump had assessed popularity polls in Georgia and found Greene’s popularity low for another term as House Representative. Trump has a win ratio over 90% of those political candidates he endorses and while some of that is due to the “Trump Brand”, some of it is also due to the fact Trump recognizes “Winners Aren’t Losers”, the title of a children’s book he wrote and he will not endorse someone who he sees as too far behind from the start.
Another story that was going around was MTG was simply burned out on the combination of death threats, SWATings, and false pizza order pranks to her home in Rome, Georgia. She was very public in her anger and fear where that was going to lead as she was often armed around her own home and did not want herself or an innocent law enforcement officer to wind up dead in a friendly fire incident.
But a new story that seemingly just came out on social media has many people on both sides of the political aisle with their jaws on their chests and it goes like this:
January 3, 2026 is her five year vestment date meaning if she resigns thereafter as she says she will on January 5, 2026, she will be getting her government pension as a former House Member for life starting at age 62! On top of that, it has been reported her net worth in those 5 years went from $700,000 coming into office to roughly $25 million today! Some say her resignation means she will not have to file to disclose her financial interests statement with the government.

CONCLUSION:
My feelings about Representative MTG were similar to those I have had for President Donald Trump… I agreed with about 90% of their words and actions with about 10% being better off not said. Case in point:

But this move by MTG has many people bothered and actually was said to come as a surprise of voters of her own Congressional district who voted her into office. They now feel betrayed.
More Perfect Union is a far left leaning political news information source. In early September they posted the video below and opted to make MTG their cover photo for their title page on YouTube. They then went on to expose the stock activity of MTG which came as another complete surprise to many Americans voting both blue and red.

These MPU leftys may have done a good job of both exposing MTG and shaming her out of office when the actual poster child for Congressional insider trading has to be Nancy Pelosi!

I will always like and respect Marjorie Taylor Greene for both her service and perspectives brought to our Congress. But this recent revelation makes her look like the same kind of self-serving politicians the Democratic Party is known for.
Like many other Americans, I am shocked and disappointed.
