Meet Michelle Steel, She’s Running for Congress in California

Michelle Steel is a public servant, mother, and a proven tax-fighter who has spent her career creating jobs, holding a failed government system accountable, and ensuring it always works for the people it serves.

As a young adult, she came to America with her mother and two younger sisters from South Korea. Like so many before her and many more after her, her family came to America searching for opportunities with the hope for a better future.

After watching her single working mother struggle to fight an unwarranted tax bill from the California State Board of Equalization, she realized that, however well-intended, government was failing the people that needed it most.

She knew she needed to serve her community, so she decided to run for public office.

She successfully ran for the California State Board of Equalization, the very agency that showed her how broken our political system is, and she quickly worked to make much needed, common-sense reforms.

Currently, she serves as the Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, where she has fought against higher taxes, helped guide our county through COVID-19, and provided support for vulnerable communities. During her time in public office, she has returned over $400 million to California taxpayers and has focused on fixing a broken tax system that is holding families and businesses back.

Now, she is running for Congress because our political system is broken; partisan gridlock is hurting Americans and we deserve better.

She has a proven track record of creating local results, working across the aisle, and putting people before politics.

In Congress, she will fight to lower taxes and allow Americans to keep more of their hard-earned money, especially during these uncertain times.  She will continue the fight to slow the spread of COVID-19, protect Orange County residents, and increase hospital resources. She will also work to fix our broken healthcare system to cover those with pre-existing conditions, lower prescription drug prices, and ensure Americans have access to quality, affordable healthcare.

Orange County needs a new voice in Washington, D.C.; a voice that will fight for this community. Michelle Steel has been blessed to live her American Dream and that is why she is running for Congress. Together, we can ensure future generations have hope for a better future and opportunities to prosper.
