Museum of the Bible is an innovative, global, educational institution whose purpose is to invite all people to engage with the Bible. We do so through four main initiatives

Museum – Washington, D.C

Making its grand opening to the public in November 2017, Museum of the Bible’s 430,000-square-foot building is located just three blocks from the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Museum of the Bible aims to be among the most technologically advanced and engaging museums in the world. Showcasing rare and fascinating artifacts spanning 3,500 years of history, the museum offers visitors an immersive and personalized experience with the Bible, and its ongoing impact on the world around us.

Traveling Exhibitions

Reaching more than half a million people to date, our exhibits have traveled across the country and around the world. We have brought the story of the Bible to Oklahoma City, Atlanta, Charlotte, Colorado Springs, Springfield (MO), the Greater Los Angeles area, The Vatican, Jerusalem, Israel, Havana and Santiago, Cuba, and numerous colleges and universities.

Education

Museum of the Bible is dedicated to expanding knowledge and encouraging learning for all ages around the world. Our new Bible curriculum engages students in the history, narrative, and impact of the Bible through cutting-edge augmented reality technology.

Research

Museum of the Bible supports academic research around the world.

The Tel Shimron Excavation is an exciting research initiative of Museum of the Bible, Wheaton College and Tel Aviv University. This excavation seeks to understand the ancient world, including the world of the Bible, through rigorous archaeological investigation.

As the academic research wing of Museum of the Bible, the Scholars Initiative fosters biblical research at colleges, universities, and seminaries across the world, planning and supporting academic projects related to the languages and material culture of the Bible, and capitalizing on artifacts in the Museum Collections.

Below is an extended virtual tour of the 430,000-square-foot Museum of the Bible being constructed in Washington, D.C. The Museum opened in November, 2017.
