REP. JASMINE CROCKETT WINS 2025 TURKEY OF THE YEAR AWARD

It is an annual tradition on our Ringside Politics TV and radio programs to award a “Turkey of the Year” during Thanksgiving week. This designation is bestowed on an especially worthy politician, bureaucrat or celebrity who deserves such special recognition.

Our previous winners have included both Republicans, such as former Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney, and Democrats, such as former President Joe Biden. Most of our Ringside Politics “Turkey of the Year” winners are distinguished by foolish behavior, an ornery disposition, and idiotic actions, just like their ugly bird namesakes.

This year, as usual, we asked our audience members to submit their nominations for 2025 “Turkey of the Year” consideration. To say we were bombarded with worthy candidates is an understatement. Undoubtedly, 2025 was a particularly good year for “Turkeys.”

The list of qualified nominees was extensive and included local favorites such as New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, recently indicted, who left her successor with a $160 million budget deficit.

Others receiving consideration were U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the creator of the federal government shutdown, and U.S. Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ), who could be court-martialed due to his participation in the “Seditious Six” video.

An especially popular nominee was 2024 “Turkey” winner, former Vice President Kamala Harris, who embodies this award in every sense. However, no repeat winners are allowed, thus she was excluded from consideration.

Like Harris and other previous winners, our 2025 award recipient is a real “Turkey.” In fact, she is a “jive turkey,” a foolish congresswoman who exaggerates and makes empty promises. Of course, the 2025 winner of the Ringside Politics “Turkey of the Year” Award is U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX).

Former employees have called Crockett a “diva” and a “boss from hell.” In response, Crockett said the criticisms are evidence that she has “arrived, honey.” In a New York Post expose, former employees said that Crockett was “a terror to work with,” and was often “rude,” and would “scream” at her staff.

She would “rarely” show up for work and spent most of her time lying “around her apartment.” When she did go to the office, Crockett demanded staffers “chauffeur” her in an “Escalade.”  A former employee said that Crockett would sit “in the back seat” because it was a “power play,” and the staffer would be treated as an “Uber driver.”

Crockett dismissed the criticism as evidence of both sexism and racism. In a CBS interview, Crockett said the “hate” motivated her to “continue to do what I do.”

So, what does Crockett do? She is known for her negative President Donald Trump comments and for advocating a far-left agenda. She also makes ludicrous comments on a regular basis.

In a MSNBC interview, Crockett claimed that “It is not a criminal violation to enter the country illegally… It’s not a crime.” Sorry, Jasmine, it is a crime, according to U.S. Code Title 8, Section 1325.

In a speech lambasting President Trump’s campaign to deport illegal aliens, Crockett said America is a “country of immigrants” who do the work that Americans do not want to do. She claimed that Americans were “done picking cotton! We are. You can’t pay us enough to find a plantation.”

Obviously, Crockett was referring to pre-Civil War America, since today, almost all cotton is not picked by hand. Instead, farmers use large pieces of mechanical equipment.

Several months ago, Crockett faced criticism for her insensitive remarks about wheelchair-bound Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX). She called him “Governor Hot Wheels,” leading her colleague, U.S. Representative Randy Weber (R-TX), to sponsor a censure resolution, although it was never introduced for a formal House vote.

Crockett’s behavior has captured Trump’s attention. He has called her “a lowlife,” and “a low IQ (intelligence quotient) person who I can’t even believe is a congressperson.” However, he also posted on social media that “Jasmine Crockett is the future of the Democrat Party!”

If the President is right, Crockett may be a formidable candidate for the U.S. Senate in Texas. She is weighing whether to enter the race. In an interview on MS NOW, Crockett said that she is “closer to yes than I am no.”

One poll shows her leading in the race for the Democratic Party nomination with the support of 31% of voters. Republicans in Texas should pray that Crockett enters the race. Her history of outrageous statements and her support of far-left views would make it extremely difficult for her to win the Lone Star state. Maybe Massachusetts, but not Texas.

Her chances of victory will not be helped by her propensity to make ridiculous statements that are laughably wrong. For example, on the House floor, Crockett claimed she was going to “expose it all” regarding convicted pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. She listed Republicans, including current Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin, who received donations from “somebody named Jeffrey Epstein.”

She strongly insinuated that Zeldin received contributions from the disgraced sex trafficker. Instead, Zeldin received donations from a different person, a Long Island, New York neurosurgeon named Dr. Jeffrey Epstein.

When confronted with her mistake, Crockett refused to apologize or amend her remarks. She blamed the lack of time to investigate and the fact that the Federal Election Commission (FEC) does not place photos next to each donor’s name on their records.

She said her research team made sure that Dr. Jeffrey Epstein was from the “New York area” like the convicted pedophile. However, she mistakenly said that donations were made before the sex trafficker died. Instead, Dr. Epstein donated to Zeldin in 2020, months after the other Jeffrey Epstein died in prison.

For revenge, Dr. Epstein told the New York Post, “I should contribute money to Jasmine Crockett and then let everybody know that she also took money from Jeffrey Epstein.”

Better yet, Dr. Epstein, do not waste your money for Jasmine Crockett does not deserve a donation, only recognition as the Ringside Politics “Turkey of the Year.”
