Trump Dismisses Media Reports of $30 Billion ‘Non-Military Nuclear’ Offer to Iran

‘Never heard of this ridiculous idea,’ the U.S. president says.

President Donald Trump dismissed U.S. media reports that the administration discussed possible economic incentives for rebuilding Iran, including offering the Iranian regime $30 billion for building a civilian nuclear program, according to a June 27 Truth Social post.

In his post, Trump blamed “Fake News Media” for claiming that the United States explored such monetary options to “build non-military Nuclear facilities” in Iran.

“Never heard of this ridiculous idea. It’s just another hoax put out by the Fake News in order to demean,” he said.

The 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran was escalating when it was brought to an end when the United States delivered a deadly blow to Iranian nuclear facilities on June 21–22.

Trump had earlier called out Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali for claiming Iran won the war with Israel.

“Why would the so-called ‘Supreme Leader,’ Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, of the war torn Country of Iran, say so blatantly and foolishly that he won the War with Israel, when he knows his statement is a lie, it is not so,” Trump said in a June 27 Truth Social post. “As a man of great faith, he is not supposed to lie.”

“His Country was decimated, his three evil Nuclear Sites were obliterated, and I knew exactly where he was sheltered, and would not let Israel, or the U.S. Armed Forces, by far the Greatest and Most Powerful in the World, terminate his life. I saved him from a very ugly and ignominious death.”

Before the B2 bomber strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, Khamenei was hiding in an underground bunker. Trump had mentioned that he knew “exactly where” Khamenei was hiding in an earlier June 17 post. “He is an easy target, but is safe there—We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” Trump said.

After the cease-fire, Khamenei emerged from hiding, and Iranian media televised his pre-recorded speech claiming victory in the war.

“The Islamic Republic slapped America in the face. It attacked one of the important American bases in the region,” Khamenei said, referring to the missile attack on U.S. bases in Doha, Qatar.
